This just in Universal’s Volcano Bay will be closing on November 2nd for the season and will reopen on or before March 1, 2021.
The news was just posted on the Universal Orlando Homepage!
They mention that they’re closing for the season to perform annual maintenance on several attractions and areas of the park at the same time. It’s typical in the industry for water parks to do seasonal closures during winter months for maintenance purposes.
3-Park Seasonal and Annual passes that are valid beginning November 2 will receive two additional months to compensate for Volcano Bay’s seasonal closure. If they’d prefer, pass holders also have the option to modify their pass to a 2-park pass and be reimbursed for the Volcano Bay portion of the remainder of their pass term. Passholders can visit Guest Services in the theme parks for assistance.

Just like Disney World and closing their waterparks till 2021 it seems Universal Orlando is following in Disney’s footsteps.
No word on what will happen with the team members working there but if we had to guess they will all be laid off like Disney…
It is a very scary time in the theme park industry right now due to COVID-19.
