Called the Universal School of Experience Leadership and Innovation, the new program comes with a $10 million investment from Universal Destinations & Experiences and will be housed inside UCF’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management, which is consistently ranked among the top hospitality schools in the world.

The announcement marks a major expansion of the longtime relationship between Universal and UCF, a partnership that has already helped funnel thousands of graduates into careers across Universal parks, resorts, and creative operations.

According to Universal Destinations & Experiences Chairman and CEO Mark Woodbury, the new school will combine creativity, technology, business strategy, marketing, and guest service training to help prepare students for careers in the rapidly evolving themed entertainment industry.

The new program will also introduce a Hospitality Technology Lab where students can work alongside Universal professionals and UCF faculty on hands-on projects and research initiatives. Think of it like an Imagineering-style sandbox where tomorrow’s attractions, technologies, and guest experiences could start taking shape. 🎢✨

Focus areas for the program include:

• Service robotics and guest interaction technology
• AR and VR simulation tools for training and immersive experiences
• AI and digital twin technology to personalize and optimize guest experiences

The initiative also makes Universal the first entertainment-sector member of UCF’s Pegasus Partners program, which connects major industry leaders with the university for research, workforce development, and innovation collaborations.

For theme park fans and aspiring creatives, this could become one of the most exciting pipelines into the attractions industry yet. Between Epic Universe, Universal Creative, immersive technology, and the ever-growing demand for next-generation entertainment experiences, Universal and UCF are essentially building a classroom for the future of themed entertainment itself.
