Isn’t it amazing when just the idea of Disney can propel someone to do something that truly makes a change in the world? Nicole Louise Perkins, a photographer from the UK, can answer that question for you. Perkins works full time at a school for special needs children and has a great love of photography and Disney.
Through working with these amazing children all the time, she wanted to show the world that their disabilities don’t define them- and she decided to show them through her own lens. Perkins had her first photo series in 2018 called “Down Right Beautiful” and it showcased many wonderful special needs children. Their parents also included advice about raising kids with disabilities. It was a huge success!
Because of how popular her first photo series was, Perkins decided to create another one in 2019 and include her love of Disney as well.
Perkins decided to call her new photo series “Down with Disney” and recreated looks from Peter Pan, Toy Story, Brave, Frozen, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Aladdin, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, Monsters Inc., The Jungle Book, and the Little Mermaid.
Perkins wanted to create a more fun photo series this time around instead of the more serious underlying tones of her 2018 collection.
And didn’t these just come out swimmingly? This photographer and lover of Disney (and these beautiful children) even hopes to continue her photo series next year!
