Tron Lightcycle Run

Tron Lightcycle Run is already aging before it even opens. Construction started back in February of 2018 and was originally scheduled for an opening date of August 2021. Major worldwide events slowed construction to a snail’s pace through 2020 and 2021, delaying the opening for over a year now. We are still waiting for an official announcement of when Tron Lightcycle Run will open, but we think that will happen just over 2 weeks from now at D23Expo.

Meanwhile, the white canopy, which was finished a few months ago is already showing signs of aging. Through either a design flaw or a lack of awareness of how things would react to the Florida rainy afternoons, the canopy is looking a little rough.

In the images below you can see that dirt and debris can be seen collecting in the shallow lines. This is from rain runoff and whatever is used to connect the canopy to the steel truss holding it up. Through time the weathering should become less noticeable.

We know Disney and this will be cleaned up and fixed prior to the actual opening. In fact, Disney is finally doing human testing, which means the ride is very closer to being finished.
