If you have had the chance to go to Disney’s Hollywood Studios Toy Story Land you have probably felt like you have become one of Andy’s toys. If you have gone in the warmer months you have probably felt like you are a melting plastic toy, and noticed one thing missing from the Land. Shade! Well, Slinky Dog Dash Just got a cool upgrade!

It appears Disney has heard the feedback from the guest on the matter and has added some much-needed shade to the queue of Slinky Dog  Dash. This extremely popular attraction can get lines well over an hour, even two hours out in that blazing Florida sun. The majority of the line was outside with no shade, but now the much-needed relief has been a welcomed addition to the ride.

It appears they have even added some fans to help in the cooling process and lights for at night. These additions will make for a more pleasant waiting experience.

Disney figured out a way to add the shade while still keeping true to the thematic look of the land, which makes you feel fully immersed in Andy’s backyard. The primary colors of the shades and fans pop just like the rest of the ride while keeping you a bit cooler while you wait for this springy rollercoaster!

Will this mean more shady spots in Toy Story Land are yet to come? We hope so! But this certainly helps! Check back with Chip and Co for new updates around the parks.

  1. I was just on it. Didn’t help one bit. The lines in this land should all be indoors. There was no reason at all to subject their guests to this much heat for a very long time.
Both Alien Swirl and Slinky dog could easily been made into mostly air conditioned queue lines.
