Tornado Warning Issued Near Orlando Theme Parks, Followed by Wind Advisory
The National Weather Service in Melbourne, Florida issued a tornado warning for areas near Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort on Monday, March 10, 2025.
The initial tornado warning, issued at 8:35 a.m. and set to expire at 9:00 a.m., was subsequently extended to 9:30 a.m. The warning covered southwestern Lake County and northwestern Orange County.

A tornado warning signifies that a tornado has been detected. At the time of the warning, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Clermont or Ferndale, moving northeast at 35 mph. Residents and visitors were urged to seek immediate shelter to avoid potentially dangerous flying debris.
Following the tornado warning, a wind advisory was issued for a broader area, including Orange and Osceola counties, where the theme parks are located. The wind advisory is in effect from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. ET on Monday.

The wind advisory covers Indian River, Martin, Saint Lucie, Volusia, Brevard, Lake, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties. Residents and guests can expect southwest winds of 15 to 20 mph, with gusts reaching up to 35 mph. These strong winds may create hazardous driving conditions.
