Hello my lovelies it is I Anonymouse here. I have some juice Disneyland Gossip today…

So I heard some rumors last week about the possibility of Toontown in Disneyland being removed to make room for a new Star Wars Land!  Seems those rumors might be true!  I hear that they are not going to replace the Nemo Ride, as was previously discussed, because the water helps aid the air conditioning for the park and the Matterhorn water overflow necessitates it staying, at least for now.

As you know, Disneyland is fairly landlocked.  When Walt Disney purchased land for his “dream theme park” there were only so many acres of Orange groves available in Anaheim!  Enough land was purchased to create the two parks we have now, as well as three on property hotels – but as for much more expansion, it’s pretty limited.  Rumors of taking over Anaheim Garden Walk haven’t come to fruition yet, but honestly, there is just not much more room to expand outward from the current Disney owned property.

This being said, I hear from some reputable sources that Toontown is on it’s way out.  While it’s fun for the littlest of Disney guests, the real estate it occupies is said to be headed to turn into 3 Star Wars “planets” with one large and 2 smaller rides in each themed land!  CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?

Are you a HUGE Star Wars nerd like Anonymouse?  I hear that Star Tours is staying in Tomorrowland, but all other things Star Wars will be taking over Toontown!  This could possibly include Jedi Training, moving it from the Tomorrowland Terrace, as well.

What do you think of these changes?  Let me know.  I have to cut this short, I have a date with more of my Disney spies!

Anonymouse searches the internet, annoys cast members, and wouldn’t think twice about using a Ouija board to find you the freshest Disney Gossip. Some of what she’ll report is confirmed, some is based on information from the rumor mill, and some, frankly, she just read on the bathroom wall in Fantasyland. So take it with a grain of salt and have fun!

  1. They will probably move Star tours out and put something else there. It is the right thing to do. You know the movie “Tomorrowland is coming.” I heard it is like a Harry Potter in space concept. Just imagine that movie takes off. Now they can re-theme Tomorrowland and use the movie as a selling tool. I say go with Starwarsland and create a new Marvel theme park on the extra land they own on Katella.

  2. hope you’re wrong. I still miss Toontown from WDW. I know it wasn’t one of the original “lands” but kids (and kids at heart) loved it so. I’ve always felt that at least someday we can save up for a trip to DL and let the kids see Toontown there–I really, really hope this is another one of the crazy rumors that don’t come true.

  3. That’s nothing more than a big fat lie created by MiceChat! They ALWAYS make a big fat lies like that, especially when it comes to things that they have personal vendettas against such as Toontown, Autopia, Nemo, Muppet-Vision, etc.

  4. I’ve been going to Disneyland since it opened in 1955 and worked there for 5 years in the early years, Toontown was a late comer to me. I haven’t the attachment to it that others seem to have. Star Wars is another matter altogether…it’s a classic. I can’t wait for it to open! It’s a great idea! I hope the rumors are true. I’ll be first in line!

  5. I think the best place for a star wars land is tomorrowland but without removing space mountain

  6. Upsetting to hear this! I thought at least Disneyland would keep Toon Town. Guess I will have to enjoy it as much as possible in August when I go!

  7. NO! I love star wars don’t get mewrong but Toon-Town was my favorite at WDW and they took it out to make the new fantasy-land. I’m looking forward to getting to see Toon-town again. I understand the importance of incorporating the new Disney things to keep it fresh but I would hate to see the classic Disney go.

  8. That would be a cool addition but toontown is a classic! It is what Disney is all about. Also it is one of the only more relaxing places for little children. Toontown, though underrated, is much of the heart and soul of Disney
