Animal Kingdom: Tropical Americas Timelapse Project
The transformation of Dino-Rama into the vibrant Tropical Americas land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is now being captured by an EarthCam Timelapse camera. Installed atop the former Dinosaur Treasures building, the camera offers a sweeping view of the construction progress.

Disney has a history of using EarthCam technology to document its ambitious projects. From past multi-year expansions to the construction of major attractions and lands, similar cameras have provided behind-the-scenes views of progress. This footage often finds its way into promotional materials and updates, offering a fascinating glimpse into the evolution of Disney experiences.
While Dino-Rama is undergoing a significant transformation, the Dinosaur Treasures building will be preserved and rethemed to complement the Tropical Americas aesthetic. Disney has not yet announced when or if the EarthCam timelapse footage of the construction will be released to the public, but it promises to offer a fascinating perspective on the land’s development as work progresses.
The initial flurry of activity at the Dino-Rama site has subsided this week, with visible progress slowing. The dismantling, rather than demolition, of Triceratop Spin suggests the ride’s systems may be repurposed or sold.
