Theatrical Releases Pushed Back for Disney’s ‘Raya and the Last Dragon’ and Pixar’s ‘Soul‘. Disney and Pixar have announced new theatrical release dates for upcoming films Disney-Pixar’s Soul and Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon. The delays come as no surprise with theaters predicted to remained closed through Summer 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Joe is a middle-school band teacher whose life hasn’t quite gone the way he expected. His true passion is jazz — and he’s good. But when he travels to another realm to help someone find their passion, he soon discovers what it means to have soul.”
Disney also shared posts about Raya and the Last Dragon with the caption, “Raya and the Last Dragon in theaters March 12, 2021.”
“In a realm known as Lumandra, a re-imagined Earth inhabited by an ancient civilization, a warrior named Raya is determined to find the last dragon. The story takes place in a world where monster wrestling is a global sport and monsters are superstar athletes, teenage Winnie seeks to follow in her father’s footsteps by coaching a lovable underdog monster into a champion. The untold story of one twelve-year-old’s dream to become the world’s greatest supervillain.”
