Massive Star Wars Exhibit Announced for The Franklin Institute in 2027

The ultimate destination for Star Wars fans has officially been revealed. Lucasfilm and Disney Consumer Products have teamed up with The Franklin Institute and creative agency MDSX to launch Star Wars The Experience A Journey Through The Galaxy. This monumental, officially licensed exhibition will make its exclusive world premiere in Philadelphia on February 13, 2027.

Designed as the largest and most comprehensive behind-the-scenes exhibition celebrating the galaxy, the event serves as an official centerpiece for the milestone Star Wars 50th anniversary. Spanning 18,000 square feet of visually rich, interconnected galleries, the exhibition will feature massive immersive environments, iconic props, and original screen-used costumes representing everything from the original 1977 trilogy to the modern films.

To elevate the experience, visitors will use RFID-powered technology for a highly personalized, interactive, and cinematic journey exploring the creative artistry behind the franchise.

Because Philadelphia is the only place on Earth to see this exhibition first, demand is expected to be incredibly high. The Franklin Institute members will get first access to exclusive presale tickets starting in October 2026. General public tickets will officially go on sale in November 2026. The experience will require a special event ticket, which will also include general admission to the rest of the museum.
