A vacation to Walt Disney World is a great time to be adventurous and try new and exciting things. For many of us, that’s the best part of a vacation….but not everyone feels that way. Humans are creatures of habit, and we like our routines. Luckily, WDW recognizes this, and has built not only a beautiful resort, but a true “home away from home” for everyone to enjoy.
Food is a big thing when you’re away from home – I know I LOVE trying new WDW restaurants, but I know that by about my 3rd breakfast buffet, my boring old daily toast will start to look real good….luckily, there are many WDW resorts that have villa areas within them, which are larger rooms/suites with kitchenettes built in, so should you want to save some money on food costs or just have your regular breakfast routine while on vacation, Disney has you covered (oh, and don’t worry – in addition to smaller grocery stores within the resort, there are also larger stores close outside Disney property where you can buy what you need)
Healthy food can also be an issue when traveling, and luckily Disney makes it easy, many of the restaurants and counter service locations have healthy items on the menu, from vegetarian to grilled to low fat foods, there is something for everyone (for specifics on where to eat healthy at WDW, check out my post on healthy eating at WDW. Disney also does a great job catering to those with special diets, check out their official information on dietary restrictions
If spending all day walking around the parks doesn’t do it for you, there are many other ways Disney helps you stick to your Exercise routine. Many of the resorts rent bikes, and many also have extensive walking/biking/jogging trails. If you are worried about the Orlando weather, then choose a resort that has a gym on site (many of the deluxe resorts have this, click here for more information)
Obviously Disney is big on families, and sticking to a routine while on vacation with infants/toddlers can be tough. But fear not, as Disney can provide you with crib and pack’n’play or cot rentals for your resort room (confirm when booking about these and their cost/availability). And all of the parks rent sturdy strollers that will surely help you prevent mid afternoon meltdowns (of children and parents alike!). There are also comfortable, quiet, clean nursing stations in every park.
No one wants to work while on vacation, but sometimes it can’t be helped. Luckily, many of the Deluxe resorts offer free wi-fi internet access, and all other resorts offer internet access in each room for a fee. Maybe it’s work emails, maybe it’s uploading your trip photos to facebook right away, but no matter what your internet needs are, you will be good to go at WDW.
Walt Disney World truly is the place where Dreams Come True, and they really do strive to make everyone’s experience enjoyable, no matter what your needs or desires are, they can do almost anything you want, so if you have a special request, don’t hesitate to call them up and ask if it’s possible (chances are good they will be able to accommodate you and make you feel right at home!)
