Today, we look at one of the newer thrill rides to delight Disney fans! To start, the first Tron movie premiered in 1982. If you enjoy fantastic new worlds, then you might enjoy the movie’s story set in the digital gaming world. Over time, the movie franchise made its way into Disney Parks.
The first Tron attraction debuted at Shanghai Disneyland in 2016. The ride is a roller coaster adventure through a semi-enclosed structure in Tomorrowland. Disney is currently working on constructing the Tron attraction for Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. The attraction’s name is TRON Lightcycle Power Run at Shanghai Disneyland. However, the attraction’s official name for Magic Kingdom is TRON Lightcycle Run.
You can catch a glimpse of TRON Lightcycle Power Run at Shanghai Disneyland in the video below.
The lightcycle vehicles allow digital characters to engage in dazzling chases in the movies. So seeing these brought to life for guests to ride is amazing! It’s akin to a futuristic motorcycle thrill ride in a brightly lit video game environment. The ride has received fantastic reviews and critical acclaim at Shanghai Disneyland. The Magic Kingdom version will debut in 2021 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World. Many Disney fans are eager to see the new Tron ride at Magic Kingdom when it opens up next year!
