Just got some video footage from Jeff Lange on the Taste of Africa Street Party that is happening at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This street party
One of my favorite gardens in all of the Walt Disney Resort lies outside the Outpost at Fort Wilderness. As guests check in inside the Outpost, they have the opportunity to walk through one of the most unique landscapes anywhere. This “butterfly garden” is passionately maintained, avoiding the use of chemicals where possible. Because of […]
Walt Disney World is the perfect place to celebrate momentous occasions and I’d say two megastars joining your team is plenty of reason to celebrate. Well, that’s exactly what Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat did over the weekend.
There’s no shortage of special occasions being celebrated at Disney Parks – you told us so this week. And many of your stories were inspiring. Blog readers have celebrated beating cancer, surviving serious illnesses and even the ability to see again. If you have a chance, these stories and others are worth […]
Since their debut ten years ago, Disney pins have been created to celebrate nearly every occasion. Walt Disney Imagineering Art Director Alex Caruthers recently shared a little-known piece of trivia with me regarding the inspiration for the Magic Kingdom Park quick service restaurant Sleepy Hollow, located in Liberty Square. I have been passing Sleepy Hollow regularly, since 1974, and never gave a thought as to a “story line”…..
Pastas, wood-fired pizzas, scoops of sweet gelato – here’s a first look at the menu for the new Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria at the Epcot Italy pavilion. Opening next month the 300-seat restaurant expands dining choices (our favorite Tutto Italia stays). Created by the Patina Restaurant Group’s CEO Nick Valenti, the menu is based on his travels in Southern Italy and his time developing and overseeing the successful Naples 45 Ristorante e Pizzeria in New York.
While summer is in full swing here in the US, if you will be visiting Disney World over the Christmas holidays, I have an important question for you? What are your dining plans? Have you made those Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs) yet?
While a Disney vacation is a special one, visiting central Florida in the hottest part of summer will require some planning if you want this to be a magical vacation…and not a miserable one. So let’s talk about some ways to stay cool if you will be traveling to Disney World this summer.
Planning a vacation to Walt Disney World starts with deciding when you are going to visit. Figuring this out can be challenging though, as there are so many things to consider: work and school schedules, weather, and even special Disney events that may be occurring all play a part in your decision.
If you have school-age children, at some point you have probably considered taking them out of school to visit Disney World. It can be a tough decision, and the right answer may be different at different ages of your children.
You’ve planned for months, and done everything you can think of to save money on your Disney World vacation. You have a budget, and your transportation, hotel, tickets and meals were all carefully considered to help you have as affordable a Disney vacation as is possible. But what about souvenirs? There are a number of ways to make your souvenirs actually quite affordable, and if you can buy them as carefully as the rest of your trip, you may not end up blowing your vacation budget on souvenirs.
One of the most affordable Disney souvenirs that I know of is to create a scrapbook of your vacation memories when you return home. While scrapbooking certainly can be complicated…and expensive….it absolutely does not have to be either. In fact, anyone can really make a simple scrapbook made with not much more than pictures, items you collect at the parks, and the most priceless things you have…your memories.
Walt Disney World offers a tremendous variety of choices, from the many Disney properties, to off-resort hotels, to a vast supply of vacation homes and condos. How do you choose? And perhaps even more importantly: what is the most affordable choice for your Disney vacation?
You see the signs everywhere when you visit Walt Disney World: on busses, in the hotels, even at the parks: “Have you heard about Disney’s best kept secret”? That secret, of course, is the Disney Vacation Club, and as Disney continues their plans to expand their timeshare option with the construction of more DVC properties….well, I don’t know that it is much of a *secret* any more.
