There’s been a change in name recently for a beloved Star Wars spaceship. Boba Fett’s iconic Slave I is no longer going by that name according to Star Wars merchandisers. Instead, it is simply being called “Boba Fett’s Starship” on new retail products.
The most recent example is a LEGO toy set. A new LEGO Star Wars set of Boba Fett’s ship was recently unveiled, but rather than Slave I, the package simply referred to the vessel as “Boba Fett’s Starship.”

According to details that were revealed at LEGO Fan Media Days last month, the decision was made at the instruction of Disney.
“We’re not calling it Slave I anymore,” LEGO Star Wars Lead Designer Michael Lee Stockwell revealed. “This is Boba Fett’s Starship.”
“Everybody is dropping the Slave I name,” LEGO Star Wars Design Director Jens Kronvold Frederiksen added. “It’s probably not something which has been announced publicly but it is just something that Disney doesn’t want to use anymore.”

We are currently waiting on a more detailed explanation from Disney, but other retail companies are confirming the name change.
