Obi-Wan Kenobi’s upcoming Disney+ series has experienced a series of delays since it was first announced. However, the good news is that a new report says the show may be ready to get underway! The last we heard was how Kenobi’s series would start film production in early 2021. But it may start as early as next month if favorable filming conditions allow them to start on set.
A well-known fan-site, Making Star Wars, says sources familiar with the production told them Obi-Wan will kick off production next month. This means the show would forego its rumored 2021 date for a September 2020 start. If that’s the case, then the Force seems to be with us in helping this series continue production.
There’s also talk Obi-Wan will film scenes in a train yard that was used often for The Mandalorian. The train yard is carefully made to recreate Tattoine. So it’s likely the desert planet will factor into Obi-Wan’s Disney+ series as well.
Director Deborah Chow says the Star Wars ‘Kenobi’ series is still in development. During a pre-recorded panel between the Mandalorian directors and show runners, director Deborah Chow shared an update regarding her upcoming, and currently untitled, Obi-Wan Kenobi Star Wars series for Disney+.
