The Splash Mountain ride at Walt Disney World shut down briefly Wednesday because of reports of a burning smell in the electrical room.
Reedy Creek Fire Department Deputy Chief Richard LePere said there was no smoke or fire when crews responded shortly after 11 a.m. He said the ride was closed for a little more than an hour as a precaution.
LePere said a blown transistor switch may have been the cause of the smell. Nobody was injured.
A Disney spokesman said the disruption was minimal.
Splash Mountain is in the Magic Kingdom’s Frontier Land. The water ride culminates in a large drop that soaks passengers.
