I have been excited about the new Disney Skyliner since they first announced the project in 2017. We took a visit to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and snapped a few photos of the Skyliner to update you on the progress!
These photos were taken from the Trinidad section of Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort looking across Barefoot Bay.
Disney’s Caribbean Resort station will be the hub for the Disney Skyliner. Here passengers will be able to transfer gondola routes to reach their destination. Once completed, the Skyliner has the potential to transport an estimated 4,000 to 5,000 passengers per hour!
The Disney Skyliner will connect both Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the International Gateway at Epcot with these four resorts:
- Art of Animation Resort
- Pop Century Resort
- Caribbean Beach Resort
- Riviera Resort (projected to open fall 2019).
There has been some debate over this new gondola system. Many fans were surprised to hear they would be using a passive cooling system instead of air conditioning. I know I’m excited to see them up and running and test them for myself. Though we still don’t have an exact date, Disney’s Skyliner is projected to open this fall.
