Set Photos Reveal New Costumes for Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy in 'Thor: Love and Thunder'

Set Photos Reveal New Costumes for Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder‘. Filming for Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love and Thunder is underway in the land down under and this week we got out first glimpse of the new looks for Thor, Star-Lord, Kraglin, and Nebula in the film.

*SPOILER ALERT* This article will discuss costume spoilers for Thor: Love and Thunder, if you do not wish to have aspects of the film ruined by the discussion in this post we recommend you stop reading beyond this point. Thank-you!

While on set in Centennial Park in Sydney, Australia, media outlets where able to snap a few shots of several actors in costume for filming of the next Thor film. First up we have Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Peter Quill/Star-Lord (Chris Pratt). Notably, Thor still has Stormbreaker and is rocking the long blonde locks once again, while wearing a new set of threads very reminiscent of an 80’s pop star. Chris Pratt’s Peter Quill seems to have added more armored pieces to his iconic maroon colored jacket and has a bushier hairstyle this time around, potentially indicating some time has passed between the events of Avengers: Endgame and Thor: Love and Thunder.

The pair chatted between scenes and removed their jackets due to the seasonal heat this time of year in the Southern Hemisphere. Throughout the photos you will see the actors carrying individual fans to help beat the heat and keep their makeup intact.

Next up we have Sean Gunn’s Kraglin and Karen Gillan‘s Nebula. Both of the newest members of the Guardians of the Galaxy  were seen on set, with Kraglin sporting Yondu’s Arrow and a new head piece and Nebula wearing a new outfit as well and sporting the bronze colored head piece featured in Avengers: Endgame.

Many fans may be questioning why production members may not be masked while filming, but rest assured, Australia’s initial protocols to combat the COVID-19 outbreak has allowed the country to opt out of mask wearing for several months now. The persons in the photos wearing masks are likely international production members for Thor: Love and Thunder or those who would feel more comfortable wearing the masks during filming.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set to premiere on May 6, 2022 and will star Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Natalie Portman (Jane Foster/The Mighty Thor), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), and Christian Bale (Gorr the God Butcher). Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for updates and all things Marvel!
