Rupert Grint Discusses the Upcoming HBO Max ‘Harry Potter‘ Series. In a recent interview with Variety, actor and new father Rupert Grint discussed his time as Ron Weasley, his plans to finally watch all of the Harry Potter movies with his daughter as she grows up, and his involvement with the upcoming live-action Harry Potter series coming to HBO Max.
Grint shockingly shared he hasn’t seen most of the Harry Potter films, stating: “I’ve probably seen the first three at the premieres, but after that I stopped watching them,” Rupert continued, “But now that I have a daughter (Wednesday) I will probably have to watch them with her.”
Variety asked Rupert Grint about his thoughts and potential involvement in the upcoming HBO Max live-action Harry Potter series and shared he currently is not involved and feels weird about the story being a continuation of Harry, Ron, and Hermione’s stories without him and co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson. “It’ll be weird if it was a continuation kind of thing,” he shares. “I weirdly feel quite protective of that character. Even when I saw the stage shows, it was a very strange experience. … If it’s like a different group of friends, I guess it would be interesting.”
