Rumored: Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige Involved in Sony's 'Spider-Woman' Film

Rumored: Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige Involved in Sony’s ‘Spider-Woman‘ Film. A recent comment during an interview with Entertainment Weekly may have let slip that a certain head at Marvel Studios may be in on the Sony lead project! Untitled Spider-Woman Director Olivia Wilde shared with EW:

“All I can say is that this is by far the most exciting thing that’s happened to me because not only do I get to trell a story that…. listen to me, trying to avoid Kevin Feige’s pellet gun. We are seeing this incredible influx of female directors and storytellers getting to take hold of this genre, this super hero space, and infuse it with their own perspective. Not only do I get to tell the story as a director but I get to develop the story and that was what made it so incredible for me. I get to do it with thee aforementioned Katie Silverman, who, she and I love to do all sorts of things together but our love started with Booksmart. To know that we went from telling a story about female friendship in high school to this other stratosphere now is just super exciting.”

Clearly, Wilde is excited for the film, but she did mention avoiding “Kevin Feige’s pellet gun.” A common joke when discussing upcoming Marvel projects is referring to the “Marvel snipers” who supposedly have stern conversations with cast and crew who spoil details about the films before their release, but usually this is reserved for projects that are headed by Marvel Studios. Though this is far from a formal confirmation, this makes us believe Marvel Studios CCO, Kevin Feige, is somehow involved in the project, likely in a consulting role.

Other Marvel stories reportedly in the works at Sony include Kraven the Hunter and Madame Web. Sony Pictures is also set to release Morbius and Venom 2 in 2021, and is co-oping with Marvel Studios to film Spider-Man 3 later this year.
