Olivia Wilde to Direct Untitled ‘Spider-Woman’ Film for Sony Pictures. Sony Pictures has been hard at work developing new stories for various characters from the Spider-Man universe. From featured films about villains such as Venom, Kraven The Hunter, and Morbius, Sony is now working to bring fans the first live-action superhero film to feature Spider-Woman!

According to Entertainment Weekly, actress and filmmaker, Olivia Wilde (Tron: Legacy, Cowboys Vs. Aliens) has signed on with Sony Pictures to direct the currently untitled Spider-Woman film in the works at Sony. Wilde confirmed the news via Twitter with a simple spider emoji as her caption and link to the news featured on Deadline.

Other Marvel stories reportedly in the works include Kraven the Hunter and Madame Web. Sony is about to release Morbius and Venom 2 in 2021, and is co-oping with Marvel Studios to film Spider-Man 3 later this year. Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for updates and all things Marvel!
