Rumored: Another ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ Character to Appear in Untitled ‘Kenobi‘ Series on Disney+. According to Kessel Run Transmissions (popular Star Wars themed podcast), Temuera Morrison who featured Jango Fett and various Clones in the Star Wars Prequels, is set to reprise his role(s) for both The Mandalorian and the currently untitled Obi-Wan Kenobi series coming to Disney+.

It was already rumored and expected that Morrison would appear as Captain Rex for The Mandalorian, as show runner Dave Filoni is known to tease appearances now and again, but his rumored appearance in Kenobi is a report we admittedly did not see coming. We are happily surprised though! It is unknown exactly which character Temuera will appear as in the series, but he will reportedly have a major role in the Star Wars series.

The Kenobi limited series has been through many delays and hurtles since its inception. In the beginning the series was actually meant to be a new Star Wars film following Obi-Wan Kenobi as he looks after a young Luke Skywalker, albeit from a distance, to make sure he is not found by Darth Vader or the Empire on Tatooine. Kennedy has shared previously that the initial storyline for Kenobi too closely followed the themes of The Mandalorian, so she ordered a rewrite for the series. Taking full advantage of the downtime in production during the pandemic, the limited Star Wars series has been reworked and Kenobi is expected to begin filming sometime in September 2020, and will likely premiere on Disney+ in 2021.

Series Director, Deborah Chow, shared with THR, “It’s definitely going to be different, just in terms of the sheer workload, obviously, of doing the whole thing, but in some ways, I’m going to miss having a team, and having people who are there to bounce ideas off of. But then obviously the flip side is, it is nice to have a coherent voice and know what you’re doing from beginning to end.”

Disney and Lucasfilm have yet to confirm Temuera’s casting in either The Mandalorian or the untiled Kenobi series. The entire Star Wars: The Clone Wars series and Skywalker Saga is currently available to stream exclusively on Disney+.
