Rosario Dawson Joins the Cast of Disney’s ‘The Haunted Mansion’ Remake. Joining Owen Wilson, Tiffany Haddish (Harriet the Psychic), LaKeith Stanfield, and the 999 Happy Haunts of the Haunted Mansion cast is actress Rosario Dawson (The Mandalorian, Ahsoka). Dawson’s role is currently being kept a cryptic secret by Disney, but fans are excited nonetheless! We have a sneaking suspicion Rosario will be taking on the role of “Gabbie” which was shared in the film’s synopsis.

The synopsis for the movie states: “Gabbie, a single mother, and her young son [who] recently purchased a New Orleans estate [the Haunted Mansion] at auction only to discover it isn’t quite as empty as they expected. Gabbie hires a grieving widower who works as a ghost tour guide [Ben Matthias], a psychic [Harriet], a priest, and a local historian to exorcise the vengeful spirit from the Haunted Mansion.”

The Haunted Mansion remake will not be a sequel to the 2003 film, but its own reboot of the franchise. Dear White People Director Justin Simien will be directing the upcoming film for Disney instead. Other production team leads include Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich as producers for the movie, along with writer Katie Dippold (Parks and Recreation, The Heat), who is penning the script for the feature film. Filming for Disney’s ‘The Haunted Mansion‘ is expected to begin filming in Atlanta, GA this October.
