Winner winner chicken lunch or dinner! I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the latest hot spot at Disney Springs – Chicken Guy! Born from a collaboration between the dream team of chef Guy Fieri and restaurateur Robert Earl (who also worked together for the burger and sandwich menu at Planet Hollywood Observatory), Chicken Guy! is a chicken lovers dream whether you like grilled or fried, salad, tenders or sandwich. Plus all the mouthwatering sides and 22, yes 22, sauces! There is truly something for everyone!
Location
Nestled on the side of the Planet Hollywood Observatory at Disney Springs, Chicken Guy! warmly welcomes you to Flavortown. With ample outdoor (and indoor) seating, you are able to enjoy the nightly happenings at Disney Springs while enjoying your delicious meal!
The theming and design of the restaurant are perfectly executed with vibrant colors and a beautiful show kitchen, so you can watch your chicken masterpieces be created. Not to mention the entire inside of the restaurant is Instagram-worthy, like the sauce wall and the Chicken Guy! or Flavortown murals. Be sure to have your phones and cameras ready!
Menu
Now let’s talk menu! The bountiful options are incredibly affordable with no single item being over $8.99! For a Disney restaurant, that’s pretty amazing and a huge positive for families especially, that are looking for great food that won’t break the bank. Flip the menu over and there lie all 22 incredible sauces which are broken down into Guy’s Favorites, The Classics and Hot ‘N’ Spicy. No matter what flavor you like to dip, spread, dunk or drizzle on your chicken, fries or fried pickles they have you covered!
Cinnamon Apple Milkshake – $4.99
Off the Flavortown Frozen Treats section of the menu, I ordered the Cinnamon Apple milkshake. Personally, I’m not a fan of chocolate and mint, but I’m a fanatic over cinnamon and apple! Love at first sip, I will say. With crushed apple jacks cereal on top, this is apple pie in a glass.
Bourbon Brown Sugar BBQ Sandwich – $6.99
In the Signature Sandwiches portion of the menu, I was having a hard time trying to decide which one to try because they all sounded amazing. Thankfully, Marlena, one of the amazing Chicken Guy! team members, recommended I try the Bourbon Brown Sugar BBQ sandwich as it was one of her favorites. I am still dreaming of this sandwich, so thank you Marlena! This is heaven on a bun! Fried chicken (or you can choose grilled) is topped with bourbon brown sugar bbq sauce, melty pepper jack cheese, American slaw, BBQ kettle chips (adds such an amazing crunch), pickles, and swirled with special sauce…wow is all I can say!
Southwest Sweet Corn Salad with Grilled Chicken – $8.99
I am quite the salad connoisseur and the Sweet Corn Salad was so delightful. I opted for the grilled chicken ( you get the choice of fried or grilled chicken). I am happy to report the grilled chicken is juicy and beautifully seasoned! For a dressing, I chose the Cumin Lime Mojo (or you can pick the chipotle ranch). Crispy tortilla strips, charred sweet corn, fresh slaw, roasted peppers, black beans, tomatoes, sliced red onions, and grilled scallions create a fiesta in every bite!
Fried Pickles – $2.99
With quite a few side options available under Tasty Sides, the fried pickles I just had to try. Flavortown home run right here! I don’t know how they do it, but the pickle still keeps its crunch. Perfectly poppable and dippable in all of their 22 sauces! The serving is definitely big enough to share too.
Mac Daddy Mac ‘N’ Cheese – $3.99
My toddler’s current favorite meal is macaroni and cheese, so I sampled this just for her! Mac Daddy is the right name for this colossal dish of cheesy noodle goodness! Once again the serving size is large enough to share with your family and friends!
3 Tenders (fried) Combo with Fries – $11.49
Last but certainly not least, the three tenders combo meal with their signature seasoned fries. Did you know they brine the chicken in pickle and lemon juice with buttermilk and their special proprietary blend of seasonings? Oh and let’s not forget hand-pounded and breaded fresh every day. This my friends is how a chicken tender is supposed to be. The french fries are crisp and seasoned just right and make the perfect pair with the tenders! Now, this is where all the 22 sauces come into play. But if you’re still unsure of what sauce to try, be sure to ask for the Sauce Slinger, he is the sauce expert! Here are all the sauces I sampled – Buttermilk Ranch, Avocado Crema, Special Sauce, Donkey Sauce, Garlic Parmesan, Nashville Hot Honey, and the Cumin Lime Mojo. They were all spectacular and made my chicken tenders, fried pickles, and french fries shine. My favorite came down to a tie between the Donkey Sauce and the Special Sauce.
As soon as I heard rumors of Chicken Guy! opening at Disney Springs, I couldn’t wait to see what kind of menu and offerings they would create. Well, the founding fathers of chef Guy Fieri and restauranteur Robert Earl have knocked it out of the park once again with the creation of Chicken Guy! From the flavor profiles to the menu options and the restaurant design, it’s fantastic. I mean seriously how adorable are the to-go bags?! Little details like that set it apart from the rest. My family is already begging me to take them, and they don’t need to twist my arm. This will be one of the regular dining spots for my family for sure. Have you eaten at Chicken Guy! yet?!
