Another food chain is entering the Orlando market. The chicken-finger-focused fast-food chain Raising Cane’s is looking to open at least 12 stores in the Orlando area and at least 25 locations across the state of Florida.
“We have 25 locations locked-in in Florida already. And we have a little over ten — right at a dozen — restaurants coming to Orlando, specifically.”
— AJ Kumaran, Co-CEO and COO of Raising Cane’s
Raising Cane’s first opened in Baton Rogue, Louisiana with a menu focused almost exclusively on chicken fingers, fries and coleslaw along with its signature “Cane’s Sauce.”

The chain — which offers chicken fingers, fries, Texas toast, coleslaw, and drinks — has roughly 500 restaurants nationwide. The first Raising Cane’s opened in 1996 by Todd Graves (Founder, CEO, Fry Cook & Cashier) is an inspirational story of hard work and a self-starter. Working 90 hours a week at an oil refinery. Then working 20 hours a day as a fisherman in Alaska to make enough money to start the business. Returning home to open his first “mothership” location by the LSU entrance. Doing all the renovations himself.
