Disney has officially updated its storm policy and rain guidelines for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2026 as Central Florida’s late-summer downpours return! If you’re attending the party this season, knowing how bad weather impacts your tickets and schedule will help you navigate liquid sunshine at Magic Kingdom like a pro.

While a little rain won’t stop the trick-or-treating, severe weather can impact outdoor entertainment. Here is everything you need to know about party contingency plans, modified shows, and Disney’s official refund policy.

Disney makes every effort to keep the Halloween magic alive, even in wet weather. However, guest and performer safety is always the top priority. Here’s how rain impacts the main entertainment offerings:

1. Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade

• Light Rain: The full parade generally attempts to step off as planned.
• Heavy Rain / Slick Streets: Disney may present the Mickey’s Rainy Day Halloween Cavalcade instead! This modified motorcade features characters riding in covered vehicles or marching in rain ponchos down the parade route.
• Lightning / Severe Weather: The parade will be delayed or canceled if lightning is detected within 10 miles of Magic Kingdom.

2. Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Fireworks

• Rain alone rarely cancels the fireworks, but high winds or nearby lightning can cause delays or cancellations. If winds at higher altitudes are too strong, low-level pyrotechnics or projection-only shows may be used.

3. Outdoor Stage Shows & Dance Parties

• Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular & Captain Jack’s Buccaneer Bash: Because these outdoor stages can become dangerously slippery when wet, shows may be delayed, shortened, or canceled until conditions clear.
• Indoor Alternatives: Indoor trick-or-treat locations and dance parties (like the Destination DescenDANCE Party inside Cosmic Ray’s) remain fully open during rainstorms, making them great places to take shelter!

Like most Walt Disney World special event tickets, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party tickets are officially non-refundable and non-transferable, and the party goes on rain or shine.

However, Disney does have guidelines in place for extreme circumstances:

• Party Cancellation: If Disney cancels the party in advance due to severe weather (such as a named tropical storm or hurricane), guests holding event tickets are typically issued a full refund or given the option to exchange for another party night (subject to availability).
• Rainouts During the Event: If heavy rain or lightning causes significant entertainment cancellations after the party has already started, Disney Guest Relations may offer Rain Check options on a case-by-case basis. These can include a 1-day park ticket or a ticket to a future party night.

Pro Tip: If severe weather impacts a large portion of your party night, visit Guest Relations (located at City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. or at outdoor kiosks) before leaving the park to ask about your options!
