Disney World 50th Anniversary Decorations Completely Removed from Cinderella Castle. Inspired by the castle in the Disney film Cinderella, this enchanting edifice is the symbol of Magic Kingdom Park.

For Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, Disney Imagineering painted the castle exterior, added a 50th medallion over the clock face, put bunting and swag all around the castle with blue gems, and added golden swirling spirals to the blue-topped turrets.

Everything from the 50th Anniversary has been removed, and the only thing that will remain is the newish paint job Cinderella Castle received prior to the 50th.

Disney has not released any information on if or when Disney100 overlay will be coming to Disney’s Magic Kingdom like it has happened to Sleeping Beauty Castle out in Disneyland. Epcot is supposed to be the home of Disney100 here at “The World”

Disney Princess Merch Returns to Bonjour Gifts in the Magic Kingdom. just a little over 2 months ago, Disney had moved around Bonjour Gifts! and changed out the merchandise the shop was selling. Bring fantasy and storytelling into reality with the Disney ily 4EVER Collection––featuring merchandise inspired by Beauty and the Beast.

The ily 4EVER collection did not last long. The shop once again switched up what they are selling. This time it is all princesses, which works much better for this shop located next to Gaston’s Tavern and sits next to Prince Eric’s Castle from Disney’s The Little Mermaid.

Bonjour Gifts! has collections available from Moana, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Princess and the Frog. The nice thing is all the collections are together to make it easy to see everything available for the Princess collection you may be looking for.

Disney Cast Member Inspires Young Guest to Fulfill Her Jungle Cruise Dream

A chance encounter aboard the Jungle Cruise inspired a 6-year-old to become a cast member

2006 was a landmark year for young Ashley. Bristling with excitement, the 6-year-old eagerly enjoyed the various Magic Kingdom attractions with her family. It was the Disney vacation kids dream about. A bit of Disney Magic on the Jungle Cruise, would ultimately transform this dream vacation into a lifelong passion.

While riding The Jungle Cruise, young Ashley met Cast Member Heather, who was working as the boats Skipper. Heather bestowed the title of Junior Skipper on Ashley, a title that Cast Members occasionally award young guests. The title is far from a simple honorary title, as the guests are put to piloting the boat steering on the “10,000-mile journey down the Mekong River.”

The experience would truly prove to be transformational for Ashley, as she left that day with the dream of becoming a Jungle Cruise skipper one day. Ashley would remain in touch with Heather over the next 20 years, often connecting during family trips to Walt Disney World. Ashley noted, “I would have never known with every Disney trip, it would strengthen the impact that Heather has had on me and inspire me to desire creating that same magic for others.”

Ultimately, Heather introduced Ashley to the Disney College Program, which provided her the opportunity to work on the Jungle Cruise. Ashley is now living her lifelong dream of piloting the Jungle Cruise, one inspired by the magic created by cast member Heather two decades ago.

Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro says Disney is not interested in Smaller Regional Park Expansion

D’Amaro noted Disney is not planning for regional park expansion at this time during remarks made at the Technology, Media, & Communications Conference

When Universal announced the addition of a new park in Frisco, Texas, many Disney fans began to speculate if a smaller, regional version of the Disney experience would be coming to their hometown. Unfortunately for those living outside of Disneyland and Walt Disney World areas, Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro has ruled out this type of expansion.

DAmaro-1 — Universal Parks & Resorts Plans to Bring New Concept for Families with Young Children to Frisco.

During remarks made at the J.P. Morgan 51st Annual Technology, Media & Communications Conference currently being held in Boston, D’Amaro stated Disney is not interested in regional park expansion at this time, but is rather focussing on further development of the Disney parks already in existence.

While these remarks do not forever rule out the creation of another Disney park in the United States completely, it does rule out any thoughts of this type of expansion happening anytime in the near future.

Walt Disney Studios is seeking someone to portray the lead protagonist after Auli’i Cravalho recently announced she would not be reprising the role.

Back in April at the Walt Disney Company shareholders meeting, Dwayne Johnson appeared with his two daughters and a massive Maui hook, revealing the new film was in the works and that he would be signing on to produce and act in the Live-Action Moana movie.
