International Women’s Day Celebrated at Disneyland Paris with Fabulous Flowerbed

In celebration of International Women’s Day, a stunning flowerbed adorned with 6,630 flowers and succulents has been beautifully created in tribute to everyone’s favorite fashionista, Minnie Mouse! The gorgeous floral display, which was designed and planted by Disney’s very own Horticulture Team, can be admired at Disneyland Paris until 31st March! Tres magnifique!

International Women’s Day (IWD) serves as a worldwide celebration of women’s achievements including social, economic, cultural, and political platforms. It is celebrated in many countries around the world since the early 1900s. What better way to pay tribute to women and celebrate this very important day than to shine the spotlight on Disney’s sweetheart, Minnie Mouse!

Meet Willie Disney World’s Most Complimented Cast Member

Disney’s Cast Members are truly the ones that make all the magic for guests and today we are sharing a look at Willie Jackson, Disney World’s most complimented Cast Member! This is the second year in a row that Willie has received this honor.

Willie Jackson, a PhotoPass photographer at Walt Disney World’s Disney’s Hollywood Studios, was recognized as the most complimented Cast Member for World Compliment Day on March 1, with over 1,000 Cast Member Compliments received in the past year alone.

“I like to be a director or producer, and when I get guests to me, they really are my actors,” Jackson told Fox 35 Orlando. “I try my very best to show them certain areas they can pose.” For those who may not be familiar, Cast Member Compliments serve as a means for guests to express appreciation and “share some magic” with any Cast Members who have made their experience at the Parks particularly memorable.

Jackson has been a part of the Walt Disney World Cast for 14 years, dedicating the last six years to his role as a PhotoPass photographer. His approach to garnering numerous Cast Compliments? Simply enjoying himself while on duty. “I use this magic word all the time: ‘I’m gonna have some fun with ya,'” he shared in a Disney Parks Instagram post commemorating the occasion.

On your next visit to Walt Disney World, make sure to stop by and meet Willie Jackson, who can be found capturing magical moments outside The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. “Everybody comes and see me, I’m always going to be right here in Hollywood Studios with this big smile,” he says.

Disney California Adventure Hosting Movie Nights with Characters and More

Disneyland Resort is introducing a new “movie night” experience at the Hyperion Theater in Disney California Adventure, featuring an exclusive magnet for Magic Key holders! This is a special offering for Magic Key Pass holders only.

From March 11 – March 14 & March 18 – March 21, 2024 Magic Key holders can stop by Hyperion Theater to encounter special characters from select animated feature films and take pics with your pals at themed photo ops! As a souvenir, Magic Key holders can also pick up a magnet (pictured above), while supplies last.

The event will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the dates mentioned. The Disneyland Magic Key Instagram page shared the news and gave hints to what characters will be at the event!

Lindsay Lohan Gives Update on Freaky Friday 2 Movie

Lindsay Lohan has confirmed that Freaky Friday 2 is underway at Disney, suggesting that she and Jamie Lee Curtis will once again switch bodies. During a conversation with Andy Cohen on Radio Andy (via Deadline), Lohan hinted at the sequel to the 2003 Disney hit, expressing excitement while refraining from divulging too many details. “I won’t say that yet. I don’t want to say too much,” Lohan coyly remarked when asked about the filming start date. “We are both excited. I’m gonna speak for Jamie [Lee Curtis],” she playfully added.

In May 2023, Disney officially announced the development of Freaky Friday 2, with Elyse Hollander (known for It Was Romance and An Ode to Demons) tapped to write the script. Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan are slated to return to their roles as mother and daughter, Tess and Anna Coleman, respectively, from the original 2003 film. As of now, the project lacks a director, although the first movie was helmed by Mark Waters.

Prior to Disney’s greenlighting of the sequel, both Lohan and Curtis had expressed their eagerness to reunite for another Freaky Friday installment. In October 2022, Curtis mentioned her openness to the idea, stating she was “creatively wide open” to it.

While specifics about Freaky Friday 2’s plot remain under wraps, Curtis has proposed a potential storyline, suggesting, “Let me be the grandma, let me be the old grandma who switches places, so then Lindsay gets to be the sexy grandma who’s still happy with Mark Harmon in all the ways you would be happy with Mark Harmon. […] and I would like to see me try to deal with toddlers today. I want to be a helicopter parent in today’s world.”

Animatronic Figure from Disney’s The Great Movie Ride For Sale on Ebay

Attention Disney enthusiasts and collectors! A unique opportunity has arisen to own a piece of Disney’s Hollywood Studios history. An audio-animatronic mummy from The Great Movie Ride, an iconic attraction that closed in 2017, is currently up for grabs on eBay.

The seller, known as disneyprops on eBay, is offering a “pre-owned” animatronic mummy from the ride’s Egyptian temple scene. The mummy figure is 70 inches tall and is mounted on a historic base that measures 21.25 inches by 19.25 inches by 18.25 inches high, bringing the total height of the piece to 88.25 inches.

The mummy has three pneumatic (air-powered) functions: head tilt, right arm forward, and left arm forward. It’s a fantastic example of the intricate mechanics that go into creating Disney’s beloved attractions.

Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort will be Closed for 6 Months for Refurbishment in 2025

Stormalong Bay, the popular 3-acre pool area known for its waterpark-like vibe including a super fun waterslide and relaxing lazy river, will be closed for a six-month refurbishment starting in 2025. Originally, the closure was scheduled from January to May 2025, but Disney has recently announced that the refurbishment will now extend through June 2025.

Stormalong Bay is a favorite among guests for its adventurous hotel waterslide, one of the tallest at Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Along with the slide, the pool area features a lazy river, three whirlpool spas, and two kiddie pools, making it a perfect spot for family fun and relaxation.

The refurbishment will include updates to both Stormalong Bay and the Shipwreck area. During the closure, guests of the Yacht and Beach Club Resort can utilize the Tidal, Admiral, and Dune Cove leisure pools. These pools offer a tranquil escape and are great alternatives while Stormalong Bay undergoes its transformation.
