Spring has arrived at Disney Springs, and Jaleo is clinking glasses to the season with the return of their popular Gin & Tonic Festival. The two-week celebration kicks off on April 15th and runs through April 28th, offering guests a chance to savor the perfect seasonal cocktail: the Gin & Tonic.

New Transformers Magnet and Merchandise Credit Headlines Universal Orlando Passholder Perks

Changes are afoot at Universal Orlando’s CityWalk entertainment complex. Two familiar faces, Cinnabon and Quiet Flight Surf Shop, are set to permanently close their doors this month to pave the way for “exciting new experiences,” according to a recent announcement by Universal.

Cinnabon devotees can breathe a sigh of relief. While their current location will shutter on April 28th, Universal confirms Cinnabon will be relocating within CityWalk. In the interim, guests can satisfy their cravings for Cinnabon’s signature cinnamon rolls at Fresh Eats in the security hub, with additional carts rumored to be popping up around CityWalk. A dedicated Cinnabon kiosk near Margaritaville is also reportedly in the works for the coming months.

Surfers seeking beach apparel and gear will need to find a new destination, as Quiet Flight Surf Shop will be catching its last wave on April 14th.

Universal is remaining tight-lipped on the official replacements, but rumors are swirling online. The buzz suggests a potential Super Nintendo World retail location could be taking over the combined space, expanding the existing Universal Studios Store and offering a treasure trove of themed merchandise in anticipation of the new Super Nintendo World land opening at Epic Universe next year.

While details on the replacements for Cinnabon and Quiet Flight remain under wraps, there is confirmed news for the former Universal Legacy Store location. This space is gearing up for liftoff as an interactive preview center for the highly anticipated Epic Universe theme park!

Guests staying at The Westin Anaheim Resort can now enjoy poolside refreshments at Bella’s Splash Pool Bar. This family-friendly bar offers daily service from noon to 6PM. The resort’s outdoor heated pool and whirlpool are also open daily from 6AM to 10PM for guests to relax and unwind.

Spring Snacks Served Poolside:
Bella’s Splash Pool Bar offers a freshly prepared food menu including chips and salsa, avocado toast, Caesar salad, and chicken salad club wraps. For heartier options, guests can order the Bella Burger, quesadillas, or a grilled chicken sandwich. Families can also select kid-friendly favorites: margherita pizza, four-cheese pizza, and pepperoni pizza, all available with a gluten-free crust.

Refreshing Spring Sips:
Bella’s Splash Pool Bar serves colorful, crafted cocktails directly to poolside guests. Beverage options include the Tangerine Mojito, the Smokey Mezcal Margarita and Bella’s Bloody Mary. Incredicoaster at Disney California Adventure Closing for Refurbishment this Month

The Incredicoaster at Disney California Adventure reopened last month after being closed for a weeks-long refurbishment. While the ride did reopen, not all issues were fixed so the ride will be closing again this month for another refurbishment.

The Disneyland website does not list any operating hours for the Incredicoaster from April 8 through April 18, 2024. The ride is set to reopen on April 19.

We don’t know exactly what the refurbishment will be for but when we were there last month, the ride vehicles were having issues with the audio. A cast member told us the audio was being finnicky and some days it would work while others it would go out. That part of the ride does not affect the overall operation of the attraction but does add to the experience.

Disney Gossip: Frontierland Shootin Arcade to Close for New DVC Lounge

The Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is poised to close permanently this summer. The closure will make way for a new Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Member Lounge according to WDW Magic.

While Disney hasn’t officially confirmed the closure or replacement details, the move aligns with a January announcement about a new DVC lounge opening at Walt Disney World in 2024. Disney described the lounge as “a great place for members to relax and recharge during their day of fun!”

Frontierland-Shootin-Arcade-to-Close-for-New-DVC-Lounge

This isn’t the first time the arcade’s closure has been rumored. In 2021, operating hours were removed and the arcade switched to free play, but it ultimately remained open. This time, sources indicate the closure is imminent, pending Disney’s official statement.

Frontierland Changes Ahead

The potential DVC lounge is part of a larger wave of changes coming to Frontierland. This includes the opening of the Country Bears Musical Jamboree this summer and a likely retheme of Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe, possibly tying into the nearby Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Reveals More Musical Critters!

Get ready for more music and merriment as Disney shares new details about the talented animal cast joining Princess Tiana’s Mardi Gras celebration in Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

Meet the Rara Musicians!

Following the introduction of the Zydeco-playing critters, we now spotlight the Rara musicians! Hailing from Haiti, Rara is a vibrant musical tradition deeply rooted in New Orleans’ diverse musical landscape. These critters bring unique sounds and instruments that perfectly complement the festive atmosphere.

Octavia the Bobcat – Octavia plays the vaksin, a single-note horn instrument popular in Rara music. She’s an adventurous bobcat kitten, and she loves climbing and hanging out in trees almost as much as she loves performing. This daredevil almost never gets scared.

Pawpaw the Bobcat – Not only is Pawpaw Octavia’s devoted grandfather, but he also taught her how to play the vaksin! Pawpaw lives to make Octavia smile and has the view that everything has a way of working itself out – he’s seen it all but isn’t jaded.

Claude the Louisiana Black Bear – Claude is a salt of the earth kind of bear (or, as they say in the bayou, “salt of the mound”) who plays his horn along with the other members of his family. He’s a tinkerer who loves to create with things found in the forest, and is frequently funny without intending to be, especially when it comes to his home-grown creations.

Bernadette the Louisiana Black Bear – Bernadette loves to enjoy life, from splashing in the waters of her bayou home with her cub, Sebastián, to playing the horn with her mate, Claude. She’s a clear thinker and is warm and supportive. Bernadette loves to sink into the bayou waters and munch on plants (so long as Sebastián is clearly within sight).

Sebastián the Louisiana Black Bear – Though he’s definitely a “mama’s cub,” Sebastián charted his own musical course as a drummer, despite his parents being devoted horn players. He’s happy to follow his friend Octavia’s adventurous lead as they explore and play, and is fascinated with the small details in the bayou, like the insects and mushrooms.

Phina the Gray Fox – Phina’s enthusiasm extends beyond her drumming, as she’s constantly thinking of new ideas with optimism and energy! This imaginative fox is continually starting new projects with excitement, and her friends accept and celebrate her unique thinking.

Not only will you meet these new friends as Audio-Animatronics figures throughout the attraction, but some of them will also appear in the Walt Disney World attraction poster, which you can find below! It looks like they’re ready to put on quite a memorable performance, and a few more critters are left to be revealed…

Disneyland Plans to Replace Autopia’s Gas-Powered Cars

According to the LA Times, Disneyland is preparing to replace the gas-powered cars of Autopia.

“Since opening with Disneyland park in 1955, Autopia has remained a guest-favorite most popular with young kids experiencing driving for the first time,” spokesperson Jessica Good said in an email to the Times. “As the industry moves toward alternative fuel sources, we have developed a roadmap to electrify this attraction and are evaluating technology that will enable us to convert from gas engines in the next few years.”

While Disney hasn’t confirmed the specifics of the Autopia revamp, the LA Times wonders if this shift signals a move towards electric vehicles or possibly even hybrids. Naturally, a fully electric approach would be the most environmentally friendly option.

Regardless of the exact direction, this change represents positive news. Ideally, it’s just the start of Disney’s commitment to clean energy and sustainability within Tomorrowland.

Disney legend Bob Gurr seems to echo this sentiment. When contacted about the Autopia update, he not only supported cleaner vehicles but also envisioned a broader Tomorrowland theme focused on renewable energy, public transit, and other advancements crucial for a sustainable future.

He emphasizes the importance of positive storytelling, saying, “This has to be done with positive urging, rather than attacking and criticizing.”
