The Latest DVC Tower Updates at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

The new Disney Vacation Club Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is scheduled to open later this year. Construction is continuing at an impressive pace ahead of that opening, and we have some updated construction photos ready to share with you!

The exterior details of the resort are starting to come to life. The pain scheme is being applied to just about all sections of the building, and the overhangs provide a nice bit of theming to the building.

The side angle reveals construction is ongoing on both sides of the exterior, with scaffolding in place in several areas as the painting of the exterior continues.

A closer view of the front of the resort shows the height of the resort relative to the monorail. The sliding doors on the balcony have been installed on both the central part of the building as well as both wings.

This angle was taken from the practice range near the Disney Magnolia and Oak Trail golf courses. The height of the tower causes the building to climb well above the trees that are in the area. The sunlight from this angle also provides some great views of the progress on the building’s exterior, including paint, doors, and the roof overhang.

First Photos from Captain America Brave New World Revealed

Marvel Studios unveiled the first glimpses of Captain America: Brave New World at CinemaCon, followed by exclusive photos released via Entertainment Weekly.

In one image, Anthony Mackie strolls through an undisclosed setting, his shield in hand even in casual attire. Another reveals Mackie’s Sam Wilson donning his new Captain America costume, engaging in conversation with Harrison Ford’s President “Thunderbolt” Ross. These snapshots align with the recently revealed footage from Marvel Studios, hinting at the film’s intriguing narrative threads.

In an exclusive interview with EW, Anthony Mackie teased the scale of Captain America: Brave New World, emphasizing that it transcends being a mere sequel to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Mackie emphasized the film’s distinct storyline and characters, signaling a significant narrative shift within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“This movie is a clear reset. It really reestablishes the idea of what this universe is and what this universe is going to be,” Mackie shared with the outlet, drawing parallels to the impactful rebranding seen in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

The unveiled photo captures a pivotal moment from the CinemaCon footage, depicting Harrison Ford’s President Ross greeting Sam Wilson at The White House. Their banter humorously touches on Sam’s new role as Captain America and Ford’s portrayal of Thunderbolt Ross.

Captain America: Brave New World boasts a stellar cast, including Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres and newcomer Shira Haas as Sabra. A new acrobatic show, “Forces of Nature,” has debuted at EPCOT’s World Celebration Gardens!

Catch incredible feats of strength and agility at the new “Forces of Nature” acrobatic show! The show takes place in Inspiration Garden, near World Nature, within EPCOT’s World Celebration Gardens.

The “Forces of Nature” show performs six times daily, starting at 10:15 am with shows every hour following. Catch the show Saturdays through Wednesdays.

Disney World has unveiled a new addition to its fleet – a delightful Ratatouille bus wrap! This charming design featuring Remy the adventurous rat is sure to turn heads as it whisks guests around the resort.

The new Ratatouille bus wrap brings the 2007 Pixar film to life! It features Remy, his lovable brother Emile, and the iconic Parisian skyline, including the restaurant La Ratatouille and the Eiffel Tower.

Disney World Ambassador Shares Sneak Peek at New Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Ears

With the excitement and anticipation of the newly re-themed Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride set to open summer 2024, Disney fans were given a sneak peak of the new Ears during the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade in Washington, D.C.! A member of the Walt Disney World Ambassadors team offered a glimpse of the brand new headband inspired by the ride.

The dazzling ears have a deep navy blue base color adorned with a touch of elegance. A golden bow takes center stage, nestled beside a beautiful water lily flower. The left ear features everyone’s favorite trumpet-playing alligator, Louis, surrounded by what appear to be the iconic hanging bottle lanterns that grace the attraction’s drop. the right ear celebrates the ride itself with the inscription “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure” sparkling amongst twinkling lights and lush greenery.

Disney has filed a New Permit for Show Elements on Country Bear Musical Jamboree

The beloved Country Bear Jamboree at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is gearing up for a harmonious return this summer. The attraction is currently closed for refurbishment, and Disney has recetly filed new permits for “Install set elements and piping” at Grizzly Hall, the show’s home.

Disney promises the updated show will pays tribute to the classic Nashville Opry style. While some familiar tunes might have you yellin’ “Whistle Stop!” (or whatever your favorite bear’s signature song is), the real treat lies in the new renditions of beloved Disney songs, spanning various country music genres like bluegrass, pop-country, Americana, and even a touch of rockabilly!

Anika Noni Rose Writes Upcoming Princess Tiana Children’s Book

Exciting news for Princess and the Frog fans! Tiana’s voice actress, Anika Noni Rose, has penned a new picture book titled “Tiana’s Perfect Plan” for Disney Hyperion.

The cover art for “Tiana’s Perfect Plan,” illustrated by Olivia Duchess, features a scene that mirrors concept art for the upcoming ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Tiana, dressed in a new, adventurous outfit, sits in a small boat surrounded by the soft glow of fireflies, hinting at the bayou setting of both the book and the ride.

The picture book’s description also bears similarities to the ride’s story:

“A charming debut picture book from acclaimed actress, singer, and Disney Legend Anika Noni Rose, which shows Princess Tiana on a never-before-seen New Orleans adventure!

After traveling all winter, Tiana and Naveen are back in New Orleans in time for Mardi Gras. Tiana wants everything to be just right, putting the finishing touches on their party favors and parade float.

But then she gets an unexpected letter from Naveen’s parents, the king and queen of Maldonia. They’ve decided to join the celebration!

Determined to make it the best Mardi Gras ever, Tiana sets out on a new adventure with some old friends to find the perfect ingredients for a special addition. But soon she finds that perfect might not be the goal… and she may already have all she needs.”

And here is the description for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure:

“In the bayou, Princess Tiana is getting ready to throw a big party, but there’s been a bit of a mix-up between Prince Naveen and Louis. Uh oh — the princess suddenly finds herself in need of a band. We previously shared that all-new Disney characters were being created for this attraction and that’s where the critters come in. Even with the richest roux for your gumbo and the most delicious beignets, a true Mardi Gras celebration isn’t complete without music. We’ll follow Tiana and Louis into the bayou in a last-minute search for this essential missing ingredient for her party — musical critters!”

Similarities abound! In both the book “Tiana’s Perfect Plan” and the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride, Tiana embarks on a Mardi Gras quest to find a special ingredient. While the ride focuses on her search for musical critters, the book hints at her additional goal of impressing Naveen’s parents, adding a fun twist to the story.

New Zootopia Bus Spotted at Walt Disney World

Look who’s in the driver’s seat (well, kind of)! Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde are leading the adventure on the brand new Zootopia bus, transporting guests between Animal Kingdom and All-Star Resorts.

Disney World has added a new wave of excitement to their bus fleet! A colorful Zootopia-themed bus is now transporting guests between Animal Kingdom and the All-Star Resorts. This is part of a larger update that includes 90 new buses featuring fun designs and improved accessibility features.

The Zootopia bus wrap transforms the vehicle into a scene straight from the movie! It’s painted a sunny yellow-orange, just like the buses in Zootopia. We see fan-favorite characters peeking out the windows: the Ottertons in the front, followed by Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde with their signature smiles. Even smaller “Zootopia” creatures have their own tiny windows along the bottom, adding a playful touch.

The fun doesn’t stop at the sides! The back of the bus features another playful window showcasing the bustling Zootopia skyline. Pop superstar Gazelle even makes a special appearance, waving to her fans from the back window.

New Character Posters Revealed for Descendants: The Rise of Red

Descendants fans rejoice! Disney has released the new character posters for the exciting upcoming film, Descendants: The Rise of Red. Get ready for a star-studded movie you won’t want to miss!

The new character posters introduce us to the film’s main characters. Kylie Cantrall is front and center as Red, the rebellious daughter of the Queen of Hearts and Auradon’s newest Villain Kid (VK). The second poster features Malia Baker as Chloe, the daughter of Cinderella and King Charming, looking less than thrilled to have caught Red “red-handed.”

In addition to Cantrall and Baker, the film stars a new ensemble of VKs and legacy characters, including Brandy reviving her role as Cinderella! Rita Ora will star as the tyrannical Queen of Hearts. When she threatens to take over Auradon, Red and Chloe must overcome their differences and travel back in time to undo a pivotal event that twisted the Queen of Hearts down a villainous path.

Dara Reneé, Ruby Rose Turner, Morgan Dudley, Joshua Colley, and Peder Lindell join the cast as the villainous ranks. China Anne McClain will reclaim her role as the beloved Uma, now the principal at Auradon Prep. Ruby Rose Turner will play Bridget as the Young Queen of Hearts.

Morgan Dudley will play the role of Ella/Young Cinderella, and Dara Reneé as Uliana. The film will also feature Paolo Montalban as King Charming and Leonardo Nam as Maddox Hatter.

The excitement doesn’t stop there. The official Descendants Instagram account unveiled a regal Rita Ora in full Queen of Hearts glory. They also shared a glimpse behind the scenes, offering a peek at the magic that went into creating the film.

Staying true to its roots, Descendants: The Rise of Red promises a delightful musical experience. Expect seven new original songs, two reprises, and even a cover of “So This Is Love” from the classic Cinderella film. The Rise of Red premieres Friday, July 12th, exclusively on Disney+, with a special encore following on Friday, August 9th, on The Disney Channel. Will you be watching?!
