Breaking news for all theme park lovers situated in the United Kingdom: Universal Destinations and Experiences, famous for its thrilling rides and amazing attractions, is planning to build a brand new theme park in the UK!
After a great deal of speculation, including tracking land purchases and the registration of UK-based web domains, TheBedford Independentwas able to confirm the upcoming construction of a Universal theme park near Bedford. A Universal Parks and Experiencs spokesperson was quoted as stating:
“We recently acquired land in Bedford [Borough] and are at the early stages of exploring its feasibility for a potential park and resort at this site.
“It will be many months before we are ready to make a decision to proceed and we look forward to engaging with all relevant stakeholders and the local community.”

For those who are not familiar with Bedford, it is a market town located in Bedfordshire, England situated about 57 miles north of London. The planning for the park is still in the preliminary stages, with Universal noting the creative content for the park experiences has not yet been determined. Traveling to Walt Disney World requires careful planning, as booking Advanced Dining Reservations, Virtual Queues, Individual Lightning Lanes, and Genie+ selections requires careful monitoring of the allowable timelines to ensure access to your top choices. Disney is updating the park reservation requirement for date-based tickets starting in January 2024, and this change has resulted in an update to the virtual queue system that you need to be aware of for your next trip.
Currently, guests are eligible to join a virtual queue from any location for a park where they have a valid park reservation and ticket, and any subsequent queues (such as the 1 PM queue for TRON and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind) require the guests to be scanned into the park to book.
The update to the park reservation system for date-based tickets eliminates the need for park reservations, requiring a change in this virtual queue process. Starting on January 9, 2024, guests can book a virtual queue for at any theme park where they have valid admission at 7 am, with the 1 pm queues still requiring the guests to be physically present inside the park.
Note guests can still only enter one virtual queue at a time, which means you cannot be in the virtual queue for TRON at Magic Kingdom and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT. Note select admission types may also require a theme park reservation to join a virtual queue, which means Annual Passholders and other tickets that are not date-based will still need a valid park reservation to join a virtual queue.

The Epcot International Festival of the Arts is returning to Walt Disney World next month. Three new photo ops will be coming to the Festival for guests to enjoy along with the other offerings!

The three new ones are the Wish Storybook, Teatime with Penguins, and Forest Scene from Sleeping Beauty. There are also some regular frames that won’t return this year. Marvel’s Jonathan Majors Guilty of Harassment and Assault
Jonathan Majors has been found guilty by a Manhattan jury on Monday of two misdemeanor charges related to the assault of his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. The charges include harassment and assault. However, the jury acquitted the Marvel actor on two other counts.
Majors, who was present in the courtroom with his attorneys and current girlfriend Meagan Good, remained stoic when the verdict was announced. Judge Michael Gaffey scheduled Majors’ sentencing for Feb. 6, where he could potentially face up to a year in jail or be sentenced to probation.
Following the conviction, Marvel Studios decided to cut its association with Jonathan Majors, the actor renowned for portraying the central villain Kang the Conqueror in Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe. Despite being slated to feature in future installments of the comic book franchise, such as “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” in 2025, the 34-year-old actor’s involvement has been terminated by the studio.
His defense attorney Priya Chaudhry said that Majors still “has faith in the process and looks forward to fully clearing his name.”
She added, “It is clear that the jury did not believe Grace Jabbari’s story of what happened in the SUV because they found that Mr. Majors did not intentionally cause any injuries to her. We are grateful for that,” Chaudhry said. “We are disappointed, however, that despite not believing Ms. Jabbari, the jury nevertheless found that Mr. Majors was somehow reckless while she was attacking him.”
The trial, spanning two weeks, came to an end in a lower Manhattan courtroom after the jury sought clarification on the definition of harassment in the second degree. This offense involves the “intent to harass, annoy, or alarm” another person, accompanied by actions such as striking, shoving, kicking, or any form of physical contact, as well as attempts or threats to do so.
Prior to reaching a verdict, the jury requested a review of surveillance footage and testimony from a woman who accompanied Jabbari to a nightclub after the assault. Majors refuted accusations of assaulting Jabbari, with his defense team asserting that Jabbari was the instigator in the vehicle that evening. They further contended that Jabbari concocted the allegations as a means of retaliation against Majors following their breakup. During the closing argument, Chaudhry characterized Jabbari as a “liar” and an individual who distorts reality.
Following the verdict Majors was let go by his manager, Entertainment 360, and his public relations firm, the Lede Company. He continues to be represented by the talent agency WME.
