Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ is serving up Charles Woodson Wines’ 2019 Intercept Cabernet Sauvignon, a perfect pairing for any dish.
The Ganachery introduces the Cookie Butter Ganache Square, inspired by Chocolatier Cast Member Destiny Hinds, and Soulfully Pralines, taking a creative nod from Disney and Pixar’s “Soul,” crafted by Chocolatier Cast Member Sheila Moten.
Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar offers a new dish, Griot and Pikliz, inspired by Haitian cuisine and prepared by Culinary Cast Member Daphnee Vilme Dorcelian. This dish features epis-marinated fried pork shoulder served with fried green plantain and pikliz, a pickled cabbage slaw.
The Polite Pig features Pork Belly Diri Kolepwanwa, a sweet and spicy pork belly served with rice and black beans, topped with an onion jalapeño slaw.
Splitsville Luxury Lanes joins the celebration with House of Brown 2021 California Red Blend, a choice wine for guests to enjoy.
Vivoli il Gelato offers the Black Girl Magic Float, a delightful combination of vanilla gelato and Black Girl Magic wine from the McBride Sisters Wine Company, available through March 30.

Celebrate Gospel Takes Center Stage at Disneyland

It’s Black History Month and the Disneyland Resort is participating in ‘Celebrate Soulfully’ with gospel music from ‘Celebrate Gospel’! Two headliners will be performing at Disneyland this month.

The first headliner is Marvin Sapp and he will be performing on February 17.

More than 30 years after being introduced to gospel music fans as a member of the legendary group Commissioned, Marvin Sapp is still making chart-topping, relevant hits that are a part of every gospel music lover’s playlist.

Sapp is the recipient of 24 Stellar Awards, 2 Soul Train Music Awards, 2 BET Awards, 4 Dove Awards and 8 BMI Songwriter’s Awards, and he’s a 13-time Grammy nominee—among numerous other accolades. His massive crossover hit, “Never Would Have Made It,” spent 47 weeks at the top of the radio airplay chart and remains one of the longest running #1 songs of any genre.

Sapp was named Billboard’s Top Male Gospel Artist in 2015. In 2019 he was named one of Billboard’s Top 10 Gospel Artists and his greatest hits project, The Very Best of Marvin Sapp, was one of Billboard’s Top 10 Gospel Albums. Sapp released his 15th album, Substance, in 2022, which landed him his seventh consecutive #1 album debut on Billboard’s gospel sales chart and his sixth #1 song on gospel radio.

The other headliner, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, will be performing on February 24.

A pastor’s daughter born and raised in Georgia, Tasha Cobbs Leonard first emerged to widespread acclaim with her breakout 2013 release, Grace, which garnered a Grammy Award, 3 Dove Awards and 3 Stellar Awards on the strength of its chart-topping, platinum-selling lead single, “Break Every Chain.”

In the years that followed, Leonard would go on to establish herself as one of her genre’s most celebrated voices, racking up more than 2 billion streams across platforms and landing 3 more #1 singles and 5 #1 albums. Billboard named Leonard the Top Gospel Artist of the Decade, while NPR declared her a “gospel sensation,” and Forbes hailed her as “by far one of the most successful contemporary gospel artists of our time.”

“I like to think of these songs as hymns from the future,” says Tasha Cobbs Leonard. “They’re meant to live on for generations, to reach people I’ll never meet, to spread the gospel for years and years to come.”

Performances will take place at Fantasyland Theatre in Disneyland Park from 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM.

New Tiana Magic Key PhotoPass Magic Shot Now Available in Disneyland

A new PhotoPass Magic Shot is now available for Magic Key holders at the Disneyland Resort! The new photo op is available as part of the resort’s Black History Month celebration.

The special PhotoPass Magic Shot features Princess Tiana! Magic Key holders can find the spot in New Orleans Square at Disneyland. Look for the Magic Key sign on Royal Street.

The photo op is available now through February 29, 2024, from 10 am to 4:30 pm daily.

Subject to change or cancellation without notice. Must present valid Magic Key pass. Valid park admission and park reservation required for park entry. Disney PhotoPass photos must be linked to your Disney account to be downloaded. Photo opportunity subject to Disney PhotoPass terms and expiration policy. Celebrate Black History Month with these Photo Ops from Disney Photo Pass

February is Black History Month and guests can celebrate at Disney resorts with some ‘Celebrate Soulfully’ photo ops! They’re available at both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort.

The Soul Magic Shot is available at the Cloud Wall in Disney California Adventure Park, and at Disney’s Hollywood Studios near the Disney’s Hollywood Studios arch. The Magic Shot features Joe Gardner on the piano and Dorothea Williams on the saxophone.

The Princess and the Frog Magic Shots are available at the Disney PhotoPass Studio at Disney Springs. One photo features Tiana’s restaurant in the background and Tiana posing with the guests. The other Magic Shot features the bayou as the background with the guests holding a large lily pad and Ray the firefly in the corner.

All of these photo ops are available now through February 29.

Carl Weathers, Star of Rocky and the Mandalorian Dies at 76

Carl Weathers, renowned for portraying Apollo Creed in the initial four “Rocky” films alongside Sylvester Stallone, passed away on Thursday at the age of 76, as confirmed by his manager Matt Luber to Variety.

In addition to his iconic role in the “Rocky” franchise, Weathers made a notable appearance in the 1987 film “Predator” and played a memorable character in Adam Sandler’s “Happy Gilmore.” His diverse career included a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his contribution to the “Star Wars” series, “The Mandalorian.”

Weathers also lent his voice to the character Combat Carl in “Toy Story 4” and portrayed a fictionalized version of himself in a recurring role on the TV series “Arrested Development.” His extensive filmography encompasses various projects, including TV series like “Street Justice,” “Colony,” “The Shield,” “Chicago Justice,” and “Brothers,” as well as films such as “Close Encounters of the Third Kind,” “Death Hunt,” and “The Comebacks.”

Star Wars shared a heartfelt message via their social media, praising the actor for his contributions to a galaxy far far away. “Carl Weathers, forever a member of the Lucasfilm family, died Thursday. He was 76. With the launch of The Mandalorian on Disney+, Weathers joined the galaxy far, far away as Greef Karga — an expeditor for the Bounty Hunter Guild who rises to become Magistrate of Nevarro, and ally to the Mandalorian and Grogu.

“He would receive an Emmy Award nomination for his efforts. In addition, Weathers stepped into the director’s chair for the critically acclaimed episodes “Chapter 12: The Siege” and “Chapter 20: The Foundling.”We’ll miss you, Carl. Be peace.”

Weathers will be fondly remembered for his diverse array of characters spanning decades of film and television. He is survived by his ex-wife Mary Ann and two sons.

We are obsessed with this Walt Disney World Icons Loungefly Backpack we found at Magic Kingdom for $88! You can also order yours online at shopDisney in case you don’t a visit to the parks planned soon.

This black simulated leather backpack features Spaceship Earth, Cinderella Castle, Tower of Terror and Tree of Life on the front with the Walt Disney World logo at the bottom and fireworks at the top. Tinker Bell also makes an appearance spreading pixie dust all around.

The fireworks and stars continue on the side pockets and and a Mickey icon with Cinderella Castle inside is featured on the back. So cute!

Casting Crowns Added to 2024 Garden Rocks Concert Series at Flower & Garden

The renowned contemporary Christian band, Casting Crowns, has been officially added to the lineup of performers for the 2024 Garden Rocks concert series. The Garden Rocks concert series is part of the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival at Walt Disney World, bringing melodies to the blooming landscapes of the park.

Casting Crowns, celebrated for their impactful Christian rock tunes, will grace the stage at the America Gardens Theatre on May 26 and 27, 2024. Attendees of the festival can catch their performances at 5:30 PM, 6:45 PM, and 8:00 PM on both days. The concerts are included with park admission, providing an excellent opportunity for guests to enjoy top-notch entertainment as part of their EPCOT experience.

The Garden Rocks concert series, running from February 28 to May 27, 2024, at EPCOT, features a diverse array of artists spanning various genres and eras.
