Disney Parks & Experience Announces Opening Timeline Through 2026

At Disney’s recent earnings call they announced an official opening timeline for major experiences coming to parks and experiences through 2026.

No specific timelines have been provided for some confirmed Walt Disney World projects, such as the transformation of EPCOT’s Test Track and the Zootopia-themed replacement for “It’s Tough to Be a Bug” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Here are the dates we know of for sure as of February 10, 2024:

Disney World Extends Theme Park Hours in Late February and Early March

Disney World has once again extended theme park hours at select parks in late February and early March! Guests visiting during these months will have more time to experience all the parks have to offer.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Disney’s Hollywood Studios will extend its operating hours on March 2, with the park now opening at 8:30 a.m. instead of 9:00 a.m., while maintaining its closing time of 9:00 p.m.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Starting from February 25 through March 2, Disney’s Animal Kingdom will open at 8:00 a.m. daily, an hour earlier than usual. On February 25, 26, March 1, and 2, it will extend its hours until 7:00 p.m., providing an extra hour of fun. However, on February 27 to 29, the park will close at 6:00 p.m.

Magic Kingdom

Originally planned to operate from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily from February 25 through March 2, Magic Kingdom has adjusted its schedule. It will now remain open until 10:00 p.m. on February 25, 27, 28, and 29, and extend its hours until 11:00 p.m. on February 26, March 1, and March 2. Additionally, the park will open an hour early on March 2 at 8:00 a.m.

New Disney Pizza Merchandise Collection Coming Soon To Disney Parks!

Just in time for National Pizza Day, Disney is releasing a new Disney Pizza Merchandise Collection that will satisfy your craving for color and Disney magic in your style.

The Disney Eats Pizza Collection will be available on February 13th at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, and on February 20th online at shopDisney.

The ear headband in the collection features pepperoni pizzas as ears with some hidden Mickeys and a sparkly yellow bow that looks like melting cheese for some extra shimmer!

Moving on to apparel, you will find two spirit jerseys, a Disneyland and Walt Disney World version featuring gooey slices of pizza we all crave.

Finally, a Loungefly backpack with an all over pattern of pizza slices and a 3D pizza slice pocket with a hidden mickey is the perfect topping to complete any pizza lover’s outfit!

The Disney Eats Collection will be dropping new merchandise every month. So if you enjoy macarons, March will be the month for you!

Super Bowl LVIII Winners Heading to Disneyland Resort

Super Bowl LVIII is coming up this Sunday between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers! It’s been tradition that the winning team will celebrate at a Disney resort the following day and this year it’s Disneyland Resort.

Whatever team wins the big game on Sunday will be celebrating the win at the Disneyland Resort on Monday, February 12. Traditionally, the team’s MVP will appear in a victory parade. Last year the Chiefs won and Patrick Mahomes was in the parade.

There’s also a tradition of the winning team announcing “We’re going to Disneyland!” or “We’re going to Disney World!” at the end of the game.

The Super Bowl buzz has extended well beyond sports enthusiasts this year due to the relationship between Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and pop star Taylor Swift.

Mardi Grogs Bar Closed for Refurbishment at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter

Exciting news for fans of Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter Resort: the Mardi Grogs bar is getting a fabulous makeover! Unfortunately, this means the bar has temporarily closed its doors to Guests.

The refurbishment, which started on February 4th, is part of Disney’s continuous efforts to improve guest experiences across its resorts. The new design promises to bring a jazzy new look to the bar, reflecting the vibrant spirit of Mardi Gras and the unique charm of New Orleans. This makeover is sure to enhance the festive atmosphere of the French Quarter, making your stay even more magical.

To ensure continued guest service during the refurbishment, a temporary pool bar has been set up nearby. Guests should expect to experience construction noise due to the refurbishment between the hours of 9am and 5 pm. Mardi Grogs bar is slated to re-open to guests by the first week of April.

Disney Reportedly Replacing Johnny Depp in Upcoming Female-Led Pirates Remake

It seems that Captain Jack Sparrow might not return for another adventure! Recent reports suggest that the beloved superstar won’t be featured in the upcoming sixth installment of the legendary Pirates Of The Caribbean series. Instead, there’s talk of actress Ayo Edebiri potentially stepping into the spotlight as a replacement for Depp. Her character is rumored to be named Anne and is said to draw inspiration from the real-life 17th-century female pirate, Anne Bonny.

Rumors broke online via X and have been circulating the internet now for the past two days. The casting change has yet to be confirmed but it has stirred up a hornet’s nest of opposition from diehard fans who have threatened to boycott should this come to fruition.

This is not the first time that the Pirates franchise has been steeped in recasting controversy. You might recall that while Depp was legally embattled Disney greenlit a project starring Margot Robbie, which has since died in pre-production. Rumors surrounding a return of Johnny Depp to the role of Captain Jack Sparrow ushered in a title wave of praise from Disney fans of both the films and the intellectual property.

Replacing Sparrow is only part of the problem Disney would face should they settle upon Edebiri. The debate surrounding the casting of a historical Irish figure has already begun, encircling the potential film in controversy even before production has begun. For now, everyone can remain calm until Disney can confirm or deny these rumors. Stay tuned for more updates on this film and other projects from Walt Disney Studios in the upcoming future.
