A chaotic scene unfolded at Magic Kingdom on Thursday, August 29, 2024, as guests reported a stampede on Main Street, U.S.A. around the park’s closing time of 10 p.m. Social media posts also indicated a heavy police presence in the area.

Initial reports suggested a gun scare as the catalyst for the panic, but no eyewitnesses have corroborated seeing a weapon or hearing gunshots. Thankfully, no serious injuries have been reported.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) promptly addressed the situation, confirming on X (formerly Twitter) that there was no active shooter at Magic Kingdom. According to their statement, a “popping” sound, possibly from a balloon, during a fight caused the initial panic, leading to the stampede.

Monorail service from Magic Kingdom was temporarily suspended, but guests were still allowed to leave the park.
Disney has since released a statement expressing gratitude to OCSO for their swift response and reassuring the public that operations resumed after the incident and the park is now closed for the night.

Disneyland Resort has officially announced the return of Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit on August 30th! This year, the beloved scavenger hunt is expanding beyond Downtown Disney District and will take place throughout both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. Celebrate the Holidays on November 15th through January 6th at the Disneyland Resort
The holidays are a time for cherished traditions and heartwarming moments with loved ones. Disneyland Resort embodies the spirit of the season, offering a magical experience for families everywhere.
As you plan your holiday getaway, mark your calendars for the enchanting Holidays at Disneyland Resort, running from November 15, 2024, to January 6, 2025. This special time at The Happiest Place on Earth promises to create lasting memories and brighten your holiday spirit.
This holiday season, Santa Claus and select characters will visit and create special memories with guests at the Fantasyland Theatre at Disneyland, which will also feature cookie decorating, craft making, storytelling and atmospheric music throughout the day.

From November 22, 2024 through January 1, 2025, the Chip and Dale’s Ornament Trail pursuit will debut at Downtown Disney District, where you can search for special ornaments hidden among the holiday trees and shining lights adorning the district.
You’ll be able to purchase an activity map at select shopping locations in Downtown Disney and the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort and redeem it for a collectible holiday keepsake at World of Disney or Disney’s Pin Traders.
You will also be able to enjoy dozens of limited-time, holiday-themed food and beverages throughout Disneyland Resort. Among the novelties that will be available is the returning Holiday stainless steel tumbler.
Beginning November 19, “Goofy’s Kitchen Celebrates the Holidays!” will delight guests at Disneyland Hotel and, for the first time, Mickey’s Holiday Pajama Party breakfast and brunch at Storytellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will serve holiday-themed meals, accompanied by seasonal décor and select characters donning new pajamas. The Food and Wine Festival has officially arrived to Epcot, and we’re excited to share the latest merchandise collection featuring the beloved Chef Figment! This colorful and funky Chef Figment Food and Wine collection includes a backpack, spirit jersey, and ear headband, all perfect for showing off your love for the festival.
