More Disneyworld Refurbishment Closings

More refurbishments are being planned at Walt Disney World later this year.

As mentioned earlier Space Mountain, the Tomorrowland Transit Authority, Donald’s Boat, Living with the Land and the Liberty Square Riverboat are either already closed for or have dates scheduled for refurbishments.  Here are a few more to add to that growing list.

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will be closed for its yearly refurbishment during the month of November. Every year the Disney water parks take turns closing for a month for a quick refurbishment.

There will be no performances of Flights of Wonder at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park from Sept. 13 through Oct. 23.

The Miller Road Quiet Pool at Disney’s Old Key West will be closed for refurbishment from Aug. 24 through Sept. 11.

Disney & Tim Burton Presents – Frankenweenie

Burton was fired by Disney after the film was completed; the studio claimed that he had wasted company resources and felt the film was too scary for young audiences. After the mainstream success of Burton’s features Beetlejuice, Pee-wee’s Big Adventure and Batman, the film was given a home video release in 1994. It is currently available as an extra, along with Vincent, on The Nightmare Before Christmas DVD, or you can watch it below 🙂

It stars the kid from Flight of the Navigator one of my favorite Disney non Animated movies!

Part 2 and 3 are below.

Little girl sells Lemonade to get to Disneyland..Shut down

A California girl had her lemonade stand shut down, so she took her complaint to the steps of city hall.

Seven year old Daniela Earnest says she got into the lemonade business because she wanted to help her family pay for a trip to Disneyland. But, the city shut her down saying her stand was operating near a very dangerous intersection and without a permit. “Well, we were selling lemonade and a code enforcement person came and shut us down,” says Daniela. The Tulare mayor Craig Vejvoda says, “She was on a very busy intersection. Has no curb and gutter. Like I say, it was one of the most dangerous intersections in our community. It just was not a safe place to be.”

Councilmembers were moved by Daniela’s remarks. They promised the city would try to work something out so Daniela could keep selling lemonade somewhere. And after seeing her story in the paper, a local radio station gave the family 4 2-day passes to Disneyland. But, that was in exchange for 30 glasses of lemonade.
