Disney Cast Member Name Tag Keychains: A Magical Souvenir

For those who have ever dreamed of becoming a Disney Cast Member, the Disney Cast Member Name Tag Keychains are a must-have souvenir. These keychains, available at Magic Kingdom for $12.99 each, are a fun and unique way to commemorate your visit to the most magical place on Earth.

Instead of featuring actual names, these name tags showcase a variety of sayings that are sure to bring a smile. From general titles like “#1 Boss” and “#1 Nurse” to more specific family roles like “#1 Abuela” and “#1 Grandma,” there’s a keychain for everyone.

Each keychain is made of metal with an enamel front, ensuring durability and a polished look. The name tag itself is white and features a metallic Cinderella Castle, the Walt Disney World logo, and the iconic phrase “The most magical place on earth” written along the bottom. The “name” is displayed prominently in bold blue sans-serif capitals at the center. The back of the keychain is plain with Disney branding on a frosted metal background.

While these keychains may have a bit of weight to them, they’re not too heavy to carry around comfortably. They make a great addition to your Disney collection and are a fun way to show off your love for the Mouse House.

Disney World Raises Prices on Valet Parking 12

Walt Disney World has quietly raised the cost of valet parking at its deluxe resorts and Coronado Springs Resort. The price, previously $39 per vehicle per night, has now increased to $42. While the cost of valet service has gone up, the price for parking at Disney’s theme parks remains unchanged after last year’s price increase in October. For now, parking at Disney Springs and the water parks remains complimentary, and overnight parking at Disney World resorts continues to be free for hotel guests.

This latest increase is part of a broader trend of price hikes across the Walt Disney World Resort. Just this week, Disney also raised prices on all tiers of annual passes, with the increases ranging from $30 to $100 depending on the pass level. The Pixie Dust Pass now costs $469 (up from $439), the Pirate Pass is $829 (up from $799), the Sorcerer Pass is $1,079 (up from $999), and the top-tier Incredi-Pass has jumped to $1,549 (previously $1,449).

In addition to annual pass increases, Disney has also raised prices for 1-day tickets, especially during peak holiday dates at Magic Kingdom. The highest ticket price at Magic Kingdom will now be $199 on select dates, including multiple days around Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Guests planning to visit EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom will also see price adjustments, though not as steep as Magic Kingdom’s increases.

The rising costs extend beyond tickets and parking. Guests visiting the parks will notice higher prices on snacks and beverages as well. Some notable increases include Mickey Pretzels, now priced at $8.50, and bottled Coke products, which are $5.50. Even fan favorites like the Mickey Cinnamon Roll and School Bread have seen price hikes.

For those still hoping to visit Magic Kingdom on Christmas, there is some good news. Guests staying at Disney resorts or those holding regular theme park tickets can still secure a reservation for the park. While Annual Passholders may be disappointed, there is a chance that park hopping later in the day could be an option, allowing them to enter Magic Kingdom if capacity allows.

In addition to the Christmas Day sellout, New Year’s Eve (December 31, 2024) has also hit capacity for Magic Kingdom for resort guests and regular ticket holders. This is typically one of the busiest days at Walt Disney World, with crowds flocking to the park for special entertainment and fireworks to ring in the new year. Interestingly, Annual Passholders can still make park reservations for Magic Kingdom on New Year’s Eve, for now, making it a prime opportunity for passholders to experience the celebration.

DOLLYWOOD CELEBRATES MILESTONE 40TH ANNIVERSARY SEASON IN 2025

Dollywood, the beloved theme park nestled in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, is gearing up to celebrate a momentous milestone: its 40th anniversary in 2025. What began as a dream of country music icon Dolly Parton has blossomed into a world-renowned family destination, and the park is ready to mark this occasion with a year-long celebration filled with special events, new experiences, and returning favorites.

“I can’t believe that we’ve been making memories for folks here at my Dollywood for 40 years,” Dolly explained. “That’s a lot of laughter, hugs and smiles, and I’m glad that we’ve been able to be part of it for so many years. When we opened Dollywood, the main thing I wanted to do was to give families a fun place where they could enjoy time spent together. I’m so proud of all the people who have worked to make Dollywood what it is today, and I want to thank all the guests who have supported us and trusted us to help them create those days they’ll never forget.

“And just think, I spent opening day watching the parking lot because I was worried that people might not show up,” she added with a laugh. “But look at how far we’ve come since then—and we’re just getting started!”

During Smoky Mountain Summer Celebration, new story time and character meet & greets are part of the Imagination Playhouse experience.

Also in celebration of the 40th anniversary, “Heartsong: The Movie” will be remastered and moved—appropriately—to Dreamsong Theater as part of The Dolly Parton Experience. “Heartsong: The Movie” will run in conjunction with “Heidi Parton’s Kin & Friends.”

The Country Fair area of the park also receives a bright refresh during the 2025 season to celebrate the classic fun and family togetherness of this special area of the park. In addition, Country Fair transforms during the Harvest Festival to become Candy Corn Country, with decorations and theming to highlight the “corny” fun of this fall treat. The special festival fun doesn’t end there, however. A favorite of years past, Peppermint Valley returns during Smoky Mountain Christmas to provide a bright red and white lighting scheme in Country Fair.

“I’m excited to welcome guests to celebrate our 40th anniversary season with us in 2025,” said Dollywood Parks & Resorts President Eugene Naughton. “We are thrilled to have earned the Tripadvisor #1 US theme park designation last year along with being the highest ranked US park in Golden Ticket Award voting for Best Park last year. We’ve worked hard for 40 seasons to make the Dollywood experience the best theme park experience in the country, and our guests are telling us we’ve done just that through these awards. And remember what Dolly said, ‘We’re just getting started!’”

Dollywood-I-Will-Always-Love-You-Celebration

The season begins with the I Will Always Love You Music Festival, March 15- April 13. Returning for 2025 is the show honored as the Golden Ticket Award winner for Best New Show of 2024, “From the Heart—The Life & Music of Dolly Parton.” In this instant classic, Dolly’s remarkable story is told in an inspirational and uplifting way as guests experience the emotional pull she faced as she left everything she had known in Sevier County to move to Nashville in pursuit of her dreams. “From the Heart” phenomenally tells Dolly’s exceptional story through her own narration and legendary music catalog. The show takes place in Celebrity Theater and runs through the Flower & Food Festival.

Dollywood’s Flower & Food Festival (April 18-June 8) blooms bright with iconic Mosaiculture displays throughout the park. Vivid larger-than-life flower sculptures create an immersive atmosphere for park guests with more than half-a-million blooms during this stunning festival. Dollywood’s culinary team showcases their world-class abilities during the event with a menu full of delicacies to highlight the tastes of spring in the Smokies.

Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Summer Celebration presented by Food City (June 14-August 3) is everyone’s favorite summer tradition, and once again includes Dollywood’s Sweet Summer Nights drone and fireworks show each night. Even more drones take to the skies this year to present a mesmerizing show that honors Dollywood’s 40th anniversary season. Two more guest-favorite shows, “Bubble Evolution” and “Perondi’s Stunt Dog Experience,” provide popping bubbles and playful pooches to help every guest feel like a kid this summer.

A family tradition for many, Dollywood’s Harvest Festival presented by Humana (Sept. 12- Oct. 27) celebrates the beauty of fall with thousands of carved pumpkins, spirited performances from talented singers and the fun of Great Pumpkin LumiNights. Great Pumpkin LumiNights, which previously has been named the best theme park harvest event in the world, features elaborate displays that are fun for every member of the family. Creative culinary items, accomplished artisans, and fall fun in the Smokies make this a picture-perfect time to enjoy Dollywood.

The industry’s Best Theme Park Christmas event—Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas presented by Humana (Nov. 1- Jan. 4)—concludes the park’s 2025 season with six million lights, festive holiday shows, and the warm Christmas atmosphere guests have come to expect during this joyous time of year.

Prices have been adjusted at the Cake Bake Shop

The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers at Disney’s BoardWalk has made waves even before its doors officially open. In response to significant online criticism regarding its initial pricing, the highly anticipated restaurant and bakery has now lowered many of its prices.

The Cake Bake Shop Lowers Prices Ahead of Opening 2

When construction walls came down in early October, Disney fans were shocked by the steep prices revealed on the initial menu. Items such as a $23 egg sandwich, $26 cake slices, and a $32 burger with pommes frites stirred an online outcry. Even a slice of toast was priced at $4. Comparisons to other Cake Bake Shop locations in Indiana—where similar items were priced lower—only added fuel to the fire. For instance, the Pesto Burrata dish was priced at $34 at Disney’s BoardWalk but only $28 at the shop’s Carmel and Broad Ripple locations.

Responding to this feedback, The Cake Bake Shop has since made adjustments to its pricing. The updated menus posted outside the venue reflect (mostly) lower prices. The Pesto Burrata is now listed at $28.99, closer to its Indiana counterpart. Other changes include the Classic Eggs Benedict, which was originally priced at $34 and is now a more palatable $19.99, and the Egg Sandwich, which dropped from $23 to $19.99. Even breakfast staples like Challah Orange French Toast and Gluten-Free Pixie Fetti Pancakes saw significant reductions, now priced at $18.99 and $16.99, respectively.

However, not all prices were reduced. Some items, such as the Pixie Fetti Birthday Cake, Pumpkin Spice Cinnamon Roll Cake, and Pumpkin Chocolate Cake, saw minor price increases, rising from $22 to $22.99. Even featured cocktails experienced a mix of price adjustments—while the Mimosa dropped from $23 to $18.99, the Bloody Mary actually saw a slight increase, now priced at $19.99.

With two other locations in Indiana, The Cake Bake Shop has established itself as a go-to spot for elegant dining and whimsical desserts. Its new location at Disney’s BoardWalk is expected to be just as enchanting, offering a full menu of breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner options alongside its signature cakes and pastries. The adjustments to pricing are likely to soften the initial sticker shock, ensuring that The Cake Bake Shop appeals to both locals and tourists looking to indulge in a magical dining experience.

As of the time of the writing of this article, sales to passholders were paused due to high demand overloading the system, and opening day ticket allotment for passholders appears to be sold out (note: a limited number of tickets were reserved for passholders, so opening day being sold out to passholders does NOT necessarily mean single day tickets for the parks opening day will not be available at a later date).

To put the ticket pricing into perspective, a single-day ticket for Epic Universe on May 24 starts at $164, which is competitively priced compared to Walt Disney World. On the same day, a ticket to Animal Kingdom starts at $159, Hollywood Studios and EPCOT at $179, and Magic Kingdom at $184. Universal’s pricing strategy positions Epic Universe as an attractive option for visitors looking to experience Orlando’s latest blockbuster theme park at a reasonable cost.

Epic Universe, set to open on May 22, 2025, promises to immerse guests in five fantastical lands, delivering full-length feature storytelling, a groundbreaking approach first explored in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. At a recent New York Comic Con panel, Universal’s creative team discussed how Epic Universe is redefining theme park design, offering adventures that stretch beyond individual attractions and carry guests through entire lands with deep narratives and interactivity.

Park Overview and Themed Lands

Universal’s Epic Universe is set to redefine the theme park experience, offering visitors an immersive journey through five unique and fully realized themed lands. Unlike traditional theme parks, where each attraction tells its own isolated story, Epic Universe takes a more cinematic approach. Each land in the park will feature continuous narratives, engaging guests in full-length feature-style adventures that span the entire land—a concept first explored with The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and now brought to life on an even larger scale.

Here’s a breakdown of the five immersive lands that guests can look forward to:

  1. Celestial Park:
As the central hub of Epic Universe, Celestial Park invites guests into a cosmic world filled with lush greenery, walkways, and fountains. The towering Chronos device welcomes visitors through the Emerald Gate, transporting them into a magical space where day turns to night in a stunning transformation. Attractions like the Constellation Carousel and Stardust Racers bring cosmic adventures to life, while restaurants and retail offerings invite guests to explore the beauty and mystery of the stars. This land is the heart of Epic Universe, and its dreamy, celestial theme will immerse guests in a journey through time and space.
  2. How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk:
Fans of the How to Train Your Dragon films will be thrilled to step into the Viking village of Berk, where they can soar through the skies on Hiccup’s Wing Gliders, meet beloved characters like Toothless and Hiccup, and watch the live show The Untrainable Dragon. Other attractions like Dragon Racer’s Rally offer a high-energy thrill, while the land’s immersive design invites visitors to embrace their inner Viking and explore the world of dragons up close. The combination of live shows, rides, and character encounters makes this land perfect for families and adventure seekers alike.
  3. SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™:
After the success of Super Nintendo World in Japan, Universal is bringing the iconic world of Mario, Luigi, and friends to Epic Universe. Guests will enter this colorful land through the familiar green warp pipe and step into Super Mario Land™ and Donkey Kong Country™. Attractions like Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge and Mine-Cart Madness will transport guests directly into their favorite video games. With interactive Power-Up Bands, visitors can unlock secrets and experiences throughout the land, creating an immersive gaming adventure that brings classic video games to life.
  4. Dark Universe:
In Dark Universe, guests will enter a shadowy world inspired by Universal’s classic monsters, including Dracula, Frankenstein’s Monster, and the Wolfman. The eerie atmosphere of Darkmoor sets the stage for attractions like Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment and Curse of the Werewolf, which promise heart-pounding thrills and terrifying encounters. The land’s mysterious setting, coupled with groundbreaking technology and classic horror characters, will draw guests into a realm where the line between science and superstition blurs, creating an unforgettable experience for fans of Universal’s monster legacy.
  5. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ – Ministry of Magic™:
Continuing the legacy of the Wizarding World, Epic Universe will introduce visitors to an entirely new section of the beloved franchise. The Ministry of Magic spans two distinct eras: the magical 1920s of Fantastic Beasts, set in wizarding Paris, and the British Ministry of Magic from the Harry Potter series. The star attraction, Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, is a groundbreaking dark ride that will take guests on a thrilling adventure alongside Harry, Ron, and Hermione. The land will also feature interactive wand experiences, a live show called Le Cirque Arcanus, and beautifully themed restaurants, offering guests a fully immersive journey into the world of wizards and magic.
Helios Hotel

Dining and Hotel Options

Epic Universe will also deliver on food and accommodation, offering a variety of themed dining experiences that extend the immersive storytelling beyond the attractions. From Viking feasts at the Mead Hall in Isle of Berk to the moody, magical atmosphere of Le Gobelet Noir in the Ministry of Magic, the park promises to cater to both the adventurous and the traditional diner. In Celestial Park, guests can enjoy cosmic-inspired dishes at the Blue Dragon Pan-Asian Restaurant or relax at Pizza Moon with its intergalactic twist on classic pizzas.

Visitors who want to extend their stay will have access to three new hotels, each themed to enhance the Epic Universe experience. The Universal Helios Grand Hotel, with its Mediterranean design and exclusive views of the park, is expected to be a top-tier resort, offering guests luxury accommodations right outside Celestial Park. For a more galactic experience, the Universal Stella Nova Resort opens in early 2025, offering cosmic-themed decor and a walking path directly to the park.
