Kungaloosh adventurers! We previously reported Jungle Cruise at Disney’s Magic Kingdom would be closing later this month for a little TLC, and are now able to share how long the refurbishment will last!
The Walt Disney World website notes ‘Beginning August 26, 2024, Jungle Cruise will temporarily close for refurbishment. The attraction is scheduled to reopen for Guests before the winter holidays begin at Walt Disney World.‘ The refurbishment calendar notes the attraction being closed for refurb starting on August 26th, and reopening on October 18, 2024.
Jungle Cruise will likely open just in time to see Big Thunder Mountain closed, which is slated for a major refurb that will likely extend several months.

Haunted Mansion Magic Comes to Sea: First Look at Disney Cruise Line’s Parlor
The D23 Expo delivered a thrilling surprise for fans of the Haunted Mansion: a first look at the upcoming Haunted Mansion Parlor, set to enchant guests aboard Disney Cruise Line‘s newest ships, the Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny!
The excitement was palpable as details and concept art were unveiled, offering a tantalizing glimpse into this immersive new experience. A captivating poster featuring Madame Leota, surrounded by eerie, nautical-themed elements, set the tone for the atmospheric parlor. The iconic melting bust of Brother Roland, a centerpiece of the design, pays homage to the legendary Disney Imagineer, Rolly Crump.
Other familiar Haunted Mansion motifs, like the serpentine door handles, will be incorporated, while nods to the attraction’s history, including concept art of Marc Davis’ “cat lady” and the introduction of The Mariner character, promise to deepen the experience. The use of authentic purple damask wallpaper and a 3D replica of the Haunted Mansion sign further solidify the parlor’s connection to the beloved attraction.

Disney Parks is bringing the magic of D23 directly to Fortnite fans this weekend. On August 10, 2024, the “Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase” will be streamed live within Fortnite, marking a unique collaboration between Disney and the popular video game platform.
The showcase, hosted by Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro, will provide a detailed look into upcoming Disney projects, including (hopefully) updates on the previously announced expansions at Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

D23 Expo attendees are in for a thrilling surprise! Get a first look at the ride vehicle and other details for the upcoming Avengers: King Thanos Multiverse attraction at Disney California Adventure.
First announced at D23 in 2022, the Avengers: King Thanos Multiverse ride promised an epic adventure through a world conquered by the Mad Titan. With no updates since, fans have eagerly awaited more details on this highly anticipated attraction.
A towering standee of the villainous King Thanos stands alongside a model of the ride vehicle. This unique version of Thanos emerged victorious in a different timeline, making him a formidable foe for the Avengers Campus.
The ride vehicle showcased in the video bears a resemblance to the innovative design of Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure at Tokyo DisneySea.
Unlike the time-traveling ride vehicles in Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, the Avengers: King Thanos Multiverse attraction will transport riders across different worlds and even realities, both on Earth and in distant galaxies.

Sorcerer Mickey D23 Display at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel
Sorcerer Mickey is the ambassador for D23 and he can be seen everywhere for the Ultimate Disney Fan Event happening this weekend! Guests attending the event should stop by Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel to check out the newest lobby display.
In the center of the hotel lobby you’ll see a beautiful floral and edible display! It features Sorcerer Mickey standing on a stone in a magical pose. “Waves” are splashing around the stone and a curved white pillar rises up behind him. The base of the display is surrounded by blue, green, and white flowers.
