Disney Confidential – Alcohol to be served in the Magic Kingdom

Disney Confidential - Alcohol to be served in the Magic Kingdom

Yes you read that right. News reports are coming in all over the Disney Blog-o-sphere that REAL wine and beer will be served at dinner in Be Our Guest Restaurant in the Magic Kingdom. Don’t believe me? Well take a look at the Beer & Wine list for Be Our Guest Restaurant here.

The official news broke today in a post by Disney Parks Blog:

“As part of the overall theming, we wanted to offer wine that enhances the guest experience and complements the French-inspired cuisine,” says Stuart McGuire, Beverage Director, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. “The wines focus primarily on France’s famous wine-growing regions, including Champagne, Alsace, Loire, Rhone, Burgundy and Bordeaux.

“We’ll also offer the leading French beer, Kronenbourg 1664,” says McGuire. “And, staying in the general region, we’ll also offer Belgian beers.”

So is this an open door to have alcohol served all over the park? Will we see Aloha Isle serving pina coladas? How bout doing shots at Peco Bills? I know I would love to walk around the Magic Kingdom with a margarita in hand, especially when wait times are 60 minutes plus!

So I want to hear what you think about this interesting news. Let me know in the comment box below or over on Facebook.

What is Tables in Wonderland and Where can you use it?

What is Tables in Wonderland and Where can you use it?

The Walt Disney World Tables in Wonderland program is a great way to enjoy some additional dining discounts if you are an Annual Passholder or Florida Resident.  The cost is $100 for Florida Residents and Disney Vacation Club Members, $75 for Annual / Seasonal Passholders and you can even Add a second membership for your spouse or partner for only $50 more! TIW entitles you to 20% off of your meal cost (including alcoholic beverages) for the cardholder and up to nine guests! The card is valid for 13 months from your date of purchase!  However, an automatic 18% gratuity is added onto your bill, regardless of how many people are in your party.  When we went to Disney last June, we purchased the card because we had a total party of nine people, and this allowed us to maximize our dining savings.  We had decided against the Disney Dining Plan because we didn’t want table service reservations for each night, so this was a great option for us.

The Tables in Wonderland card can be used at a lot of different locations throughout Walt Disney World!  Here is a comprehensive list for you to keep handy in your smart phones (don’t worry, if you are like me and don’t have a smart phone, you will still be okay because you will get a little booklet with the latest dining locations when you purchase the card). You can also check out the Disney’s Tables in Wonderland Site.

Travel & Leisure Names Disney Cruise Line No. 1 for Families in the World’s Best Awards for Fourth Consecutive Year

Travel & Leisure Names Disney Cruise Line No. 1 for Families in the World’s Best Awards for Fourth Consecutive Year

Disney Cruise Line was recognized as No. 1 in the Large-Ship Cruise Lines for Families category in the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2012, making it the fourth consecutive year to be ranked in the top spot. In addition to taking top honors for its family cruise experience, this is the eighth consecutive year Disney Cruise Line has been ranked among the top five Large-Ship Cruise Lines overall in the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards readers’ survey.

The annual “World’s Best” list recognizes the best in travel for hotels, cities, islands, cruise lines, airlines, car-rental agencies, spas, and tour operators and safari outfitters. Winners were selected by readers who participated in a survey and rated cruise lines on criteria including cabins, food, service, itineraries and destinations, activities and value.

“We are honored that the readers of Travel + Leisure have recognized Disney Cruise Line as the ‘World’s Best’ for families and as one of the top cruise lines overall,” said Karl Holz, president of Disney Cruise Line. “Our cast and crew members are passionate about surprising our guests with a magical experience at sea and exceeding their expectations, and that is why families return to Disney Cruise Line again and again.”

Disney Cruise Line pioneered the family market in the cruise industry, providing a unique vacation experience where families can reconnect, adults can recharge and children can immerse themselves in worlds of fantasy only Disney can create. The fleet has grown to four ships, enabling guests to sail to more destinations with Disney than ever before and making it easier than ever for guests to sail from a port close to their own backyard.

Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3 “Unleashed” in Stores on September 18th!

Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3 "Unleashed" in Stores on September 18th!

Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3 “Viva La Fiesta” hits stores on September 18, 2012.  Thanks to Chip and Disney Studios I got a sneak peek at this Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Copy film.  Just like Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 this film is only released for home viewing.  My 5 year old and I recently watched the first two Beverly Hills Chihuahua movies and were anticipating the new adventures of Papi, Chloe and their puppies.  We were curious what their two-legged family was up to as well.  So we sat down with our own four-legged family member and watched the movie!

Leaving the Nest (or Doggy Bed)

The film begins with everyone looking to spread their wings (or arms and paws in this case).   Sam and Rachel move out of Aunt Viv’s and take jobs in a posh, doggy boutique resort.  Chloe is ready for her pups to attend Doggy Day School, who up to now have been homeschooled by Papi (Voice of George Lopez).  Papi is along for the ride with his “Corazon” Chloe and to protect his precious pups.  As in Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2, Papi is doing his best to instill a sense of Latin American pride in his pups.  The push and pull of the traditional, blue-collar Papi and the Beverly Hills Chloe transcends into this film for some humorous scenes.

You might be a Disney Addict if

You might be a Disney Addict if

Remember the old Jeff Foxworth comedy routines about “You might be a redneck if…”? I do!! Part of why they were so hilarious to me was because I live in the deep south and so many of them were TRUE (however, I have lived in other parts of the country and have found there are just as many red-necks y’all just call them something different).

So (once again) I was awakened with a post idea….You might be a Disney addict if…So get out a pencil and paper and see how many of these you fall under.

1. You are already planning your child’s (born or unborn) wedding at the Walt Disney World wedding pavilion. (complete with reception at Grand Floridian and horse-drawn princess carriage).

2. You have every seriously considered paying someone going on a Disney trip to bring you a Dole Whip or Turkey Leg back home.
