Runner Dies after Collapsing at 2024 Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon

Caleb Graves tragically passed away after completing the 2024 Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon at the Anaheim, California resort.

Caleb Graves, a 33-year-old runner and social media vlogger, tragically passed away after finishing the 2024 Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon. Despite receiving prompt medical attention from Anaheim Fire & Rescue teams, Graves succumbed to his injuries near the Anaheim resort.

“The runner crossed the finish line. As soon as he did, one of the workers at the marathon noticed the gentleman was clutching his chest,” Sutter told EW. “They noticed he was going into cardiac arrest.”

Graves was rushed to Anaheim Global Medical Center, where he was sadly pronounced dead approximately an hour later.

Disneyland Resort spokesperson Jessica Good released a statement expressing condolences to Caleb Graves’ family.

“We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss, and our hearts are with Caleb’s family and loved ones during this difficult time,” said Good.

In a TikTok video posted the day before his death, Graves shared his concerns about heat exhaustion after fainting while walking his dog. The marathon was held under scorching temperatures, exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit on multiple days. While authorities are investigating the cause of death, heat is a possible factor.

Graves was a litigation associate at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, a law firm specializing in technology law. He was also a beloved member of the Disney vlogging community, with nearly 18,000 followers on TikTok. His death has sent shockwaves through the community, and many are mourning the loss of this talented and passionate individual.

In today’s Lorecast, Ravensburger revealed thrilling news for Disney Lorcana fans worldwide. The sixth set of the Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game, titled Azurite Sea, will make a splash with a host of exciting new content and gameplay modes. Here’s what we learned:

Azurite Sea Set Details

Scheduled for release on November 15, 2024, in local game stores, Disney Stores, and Disney Parks, Azurite Sea promises to bring fresh new characters and lore to the table. Fans can also expect the set to hit mass retailers and DisneyStore.com by November 25, 2024. This expansion will introduce a beloved new cast from Disney’s animated and live-action realms:

Big Hero 6 characters will make their debut in the Disney Lorcana TCG universe. Fans of the futuristic team led by Hiro and Baymax will now have the chance to include them in their decks.
Rescue Rangers, previously announced, are set to join the ranks. Chip, Dale, Gadget, and the rest of the crew will undoubtedly add a nostalgic twist to any gameplay experience.

Disney Lorcana Challenge: The Road to Championships

Another exciting reveal was the announcement of Pack Rush, a brand-new format designed to offer a quick and fun way to enjoy Disney Lorcana TCG. This fast-paced game mode is perfect for casual play or between rounds at tournaments and was initially introduced during Disney Lorcana TCG Challenge events this summer.

Pack Rush offers an innovative way to play the game using booster packs, making it ideal for those who want to dive into Lorcana quickly, whether at a local game store or at home. Here are the basic rules for Pack Rush:

Two Booster Packs: Each player starts with two unopened booster packs, which can be from any Disney Lorcana set.
Shuffling without Looking: Players open their packs, set aside marketing and puzzle cards, and shuffle the rest together without peeking.
Inkwell Mechanics: The puzzle or marketing cards are placed directly into the inkwell, and players begin with 2 ink.
Hand Size & Ink Use: Players start with 5 cards in their hand (instead of the usual 7), and there are no restrictions on how many inks can be used in a turn.
Deck Recycling: If a player runs out of cards to draw, their discard pile is shuffled to create a new deck.
Winning the Game: The first player to collect 15 lore wins the game.

Disney Voice Actor Legend Pete Renaday Passes Away at 89

The Disney community mourns the loss of legendary voice actor Pierre Renoudet, known professionally as Pete Renaday, who passed away at the age of 89. Renaday was a beloved figure among Disney fans, particularly for his iconic roles as Henry and Max in the Country Bear Jamboree attraction.

His distinctive voice graced numerous other Disney attractions over the years, including Captain Nemo in Walt Disney World’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Abraham Lincoln in The Hall of Presidents (from 1994–2008), the narrator in the Disneyland version of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and the narrator in The Walt Disney Story. His contributions also extended to the Tomorrowland Transit Authority, Adventure Thru Inner Space, and the Mark Twain Riverboat.

Beyond his work at Disney parks, Renaday’s voice acting talents reached a wider audience. He notably voiced the wise and patient Splinter in the iconic “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” cartoon series in the late 1980s, further solidifying his place in pop culture history.
