GRAND OPENING of The Ganachery at Disney Springs on December 15th

Ganachery
Ganachery

Ganachery

On December 15, 2015 Disney Springs will be making the day of chocolate loving shoppers with the Grand Opening of The Ganachery.

This boutique featuring hand-crafted chocolates has been in the works for several years as Disney Pastry Chef, Stefan Rimer, has searched internationally for the best chocolate in the world. Chef Rimer says the chocolate has, “a beautiful balance of fruitiness and acidity” with a blend of 65 percent dark chocolate and a splash of vanilla.

When arriving at The Ganachery guests will be greeted by a chocolatier and encouraged to try a little ganache; they make 16 different varieties in house. They will also be able to observe an expert chocolatier at work while mixing and decorating.

Guests can awaken their taste buds with flavors that will be anything but ordinary. Each flavor will fall into one of four categories: Spices, Classic, Trendy, or Fruit. For example:

  • Dark chocolate with shaved Egyptian salt
  • Dark chocolate with a touch of Florida oranges (their signature flavor)
  • The Aulani bar – white chocolate with pineapple and coconut
  • The Disneyland bar – milk chocolate with raisins and almonds
  • Disneyland Paris bar – dark chocolate with caramel and fleur de sel
  • The Minnie bar – milk chocolate with dried strawberries

gangan7367975-613x409

During the holidays you can stop in and try a one-of-a-kind treat created by Chef Stefan, a baked mini-stolen (classic German fruit bread) covered with marzipan and dark chocolate.

The Ganachery is so much more than your average chocolate shop. Chef Stefan describes it as, “Textures, tastes, colors – this is about relaxing and enjoying a bit-size indulgence.”

The Ganachery is a must do stop at your next visit to Disney Springs!

we just got a surprise official star wars the force awakens poster that will make you feel like a kid again

Star Wars Fans have a month to go before they can enjoy the latest film – Star Wars:  The Force Awakens.  The seventh film in the huge mega franchise, this film has fans already breaking records in sales.   With over $50 million in advance ticket sales, the film is already the biggest pre-seller in history.

The demand is so big that theaters are adding additional showtimes to keep up with the demand.   Fandango and MovieTickets.com have both reported sales for Star Wars: The Force Awakens are unlike any they have witnessed compared to films at the same selling timeframe.

Along with the sales comes the expectation of a one-of-a kind movie and Star Wars fans will not be disappointed based on the movie trailers and synopsis we have.

The cast includes new and familiar faces including Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Max Von Sydow.  Along with producers Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk and Tommy Harper and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers bring one of the most anticipated new films.

In theaters this December 18, 2015, Star Wars: The Force Awakens gives fans a look at the First Order who is in a battle against the Resistance.   Set 30 years after Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, the film will give us new insight and updates about our favorite characters.

So the only question left to ask is –  Do you have your tickets yet?

Walt Disney Records Releases “The Good Dinosaur” Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

The Good Dinosaur soundtrack
The Good Dinosaur soundtrack

The Good Dinosaur cover art (PRNewsFoto/Walt Disney Records)

Disney•Pixar’s “The Good Dinosaur” has an original score by Academy Award -winning composer Mychael Danna and Emmy-nominated composer Jeff Danna. The soundtrack is available today. Directed by Peter Sohn and produced by Denise Ream (“Cars 2”).

“The Good Dinosaur” takes Arlo—and the audience—on an emotional journey of self-discovery. Filmmakers opted to tell the story in a new way, relying less on dialogue, while leaning into the power of nature, compelling characters and music that captures the imagination. “It’s a dinosaur movie, so the music needs to be big,” says director Peter Sohn. “But it’s also that classic boy-and-his-dog story embarking on a journey home. That calls for a certain sensitivity to embrace the emotions. Mychael and Jeff are brilliant artists when it comes to setting up a theme that can be sweet and hopeful one moment and strong and powerful the next. And they do it in a unique way.”

Pixar sets the bar for animation—they set the bar for imagination,” says Mychael Danna. “So we wanted to do something different, blending traditional instrumentation and a melody-centered approach with alternative world music instruments. We draw from everywhere—historically and geographically—to help tell this story.”

Instruments utilized range from classic strings, percussion and brass to the unexpected. “We used some pre-Colombian instruments that reflected the landscape around the characters,” says Jeff Danna. “We used a lot of unusual string-guitar instruments that are primitive or folky: a bouzouki, a long-necked Greek instrument that’s like a mandolin; the Turkish cumbus; the Iranian saz; and a Nordic instrument called a harpolek. They’re really interesting when placed into the refined world of the orchestra. Our approach to many of the things in the film was to take the expected or standard thing and, just like the movie did, turn it a little sideways.”

Remember, “The Good Dinosaur” opens in theaters on Nov. 25, 2015.

SeaWorlds Christmas
SeaWorlds Christmas

SeaWorlds-Christmas

It’s the most wonderful time of the year with waves of holiday spirit, seas of trees and twinkling lights during SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration™!

One thing I love is celebrating the holidays. For me it’s a time for fun with family and celebrating the beauty of the season. SeaWorld weaves together a beautiful fun time for all families and I was lucky enough to attend their Christmas celebration this past weekend. I can’t say enough about the fun of the festivities including The Conductors who performed some Christmas classics with a twist in from of the fan favorite Polar Express ride that is there for the holidays and which you must see! The Polar Express ride is a favorite of mine and always has been growing up. I look forward to the popular holiday change every year at SeaWorld as it feels like an out of body experience where you really are thrust into the North Pole and the world of Polar Express. Chip and Co readers should also definitely check out the Sea of Trees near the bridge as it’s beautiful especially at night. I always have fun at SeaWorld but I especially enjoy Christmas time at the park.

The Christmas celebration takes place Nov. 21-22, 27-29, and Dec. 4-6, 11-13, 18-31.

SeaWorld’s holiday-themed shows and festivities include:

Shamu Christmas Miracles – Experience the power and beauty of the Shamu family in this nighttime holiday show. Set to majestic seasonal music, the show features killer whales in a story of peace, friendship and the everyday miracles that surround us all year long

O Wondrous Night – Hear the classic Christmas story as told through the eyes of the animals. With more than 30 carols, life-size puppets and a live nativity, this show will charm, entertain and delight. This must-see show has become a family holiday classic for all of our guests.

The Polar Express Experience – Now boarding! It’s a wondrous journey to the North Pole aboard The Polar Express. The beloved holiday classic comes to life as you and your family are immersed in the heart-warming story of a young boy’s thrilling ride into an enchanted world. The sights, sounds, and scents of the season surround you. From the moment the conductor calls “all aboard” to your arrival at the North Pole (where you’ll meet Santa Claus himself), The Polar Express Experience promises to create an unforgettable holiday memory.

Elmo’s Christmas Wish – Sesame Street® friends have come to SeaWorld® Orlando for a festive holiday musical celebration. Join Rosita, Grover, Zoe, and Cookie Monster as they work together to help Elmo find his Christmas wish!

Winter Wonderland on Ice – Christmas glistens on a stage of ice, jewels and light as skaters dazzle and delight in this show-stopping, ice-skating extravaganza. In addition to graceful skaters, the show also features towering fountains of water and a sea of lighted trees sparkling over the lake. It’s a don’t-miss experience for the holidays that will take your breath away.

Sea of Trees – Take a walk through our wintery, watery wonderland. This glistening forest of more than 100 Christmas trees sparkles to music and lights up the water.

The Christmas Village – Artisans, festive entertainment and delicious culinary delights create a bustling market that lines Bayside Pathway. Guests can discover one-of-a-kind gifts, enjoy scrumptious holiday treats, encounter playful elves and holiday characters, sing-a-long with musicians, and marvel at a charming model train village. It also is the perfect spot to view the Sea of Trees display, relaxing near the warm glow of the fire pit and sipping a holiday craft brew.

Best Sharable Counter Service Meal At Each Disney World theme park

ShareMeals
ShareMeals

ShareMeals

To quote every preschool teacher in the world “Sharing is caring” – and this golden rule doesn’t just apply to 4 year olds and toy trains, it is really applicable everywhere – even at Walt Disney World! It’s no secret that a Walt Disney World vacation can be costly – and one of the money saving tips I have come to embrace over the years is sharing meals. Some WDW counter service locations tend to serve up rather large portions – and this can work to your advantage, as many can easily be split between two adults.

Read on to find out which meal is the best to split at each of the WDW Parks:

Animal Kingdom: After a morning full of checking out rides, attractions, and animals – you’ll probably be REALLY hungry, and what better to fill up on than some barbeque? Head over to Flame Tree Barbeque (if you can’t find it, just follow the mouth-watering scent of grilled meats!) and grab the Ribs and Chicken Combo – ½ a roasted chicken and a generous slab of St. Louis style ribs, served with sides of baked beans and coleslaw. This is a meal big enough to share for sure – and what I especially like about it is the “combo” part – getting to try both ribs and chicken sounds good to me!

Epcot: Sunshine Seasons is a great place to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner – their rotisserie chicken, pork chops, and salads are among my top choices for later in the day, but at breakfast time, you will definitely want to check out the breakfast platter here – eggs, bacon, potatoes, and a biscuit – this is a lot of food, and it’s the perfect thing to share, so you can both fuel up and start the day right!

Magic Kingdom: There are a bunch of great counter service spots in MK – and they all serve up some delicious food. For me though, the best place to grab a meal to share is Tomorrowland Terrace – there’s tons of seating both inside and outside, and while it may get crowded at peak times, I have never had trouble finding a seat and the food lines tend to move pretty quickly. Both the turkey sandwich and the bacon cheeseburger are meals that are perfect to share – plus you can customize your burger at the toppings bar. Fries come with, and it’s easily enough for two people to share

Hollywood Studios: Fairfax Fare is the place to share here – chicken and ribs meal, ½ chicken meal, jumbo turkey leg meal, BBQ pulled pork sandwich – they are all hearty and perfect for two! The seating is all outdoors – but there’s a decent amount of shade and it’s a relatively quiet area, which makes it a great place to relax, unwind, and refuel

This tip can really save you some money on your Walt Disney World trip – and who isn’t looking to stretch their budget a little further? Check out more WDW money saving tips here!
