The Christmas season is in full swing, and Disney lovers everywhere are decorating their homes with the cutest holiday finds, and wrapping their Disney goodies for under the tree. Nothing quite says welcome home for the holidays like a festive wreath hanging at the front door. There’s many options for door decorations out there, but these wreaths from SparkleForYourCastle definitely shine for welcoming visitors to your home.
I love sparkle, Disney and holiday decorations, so combining all three is a super win for me! Many of these fabulous wreaths are decked out with Disney plushies, and ear hats that really tie in the Disney Addict theme! To see more of their great offerings check out some of my favorites below:
There’s even some funny ones, like this Chip & Dale one for the fall. Dar, the Designer of SparkleForYourCastle gives excellent attention to detail with every wreath she creates. When I visit the Disneyland Resort I don’t always want to stop for a sit down meal. (To be honest, I could almost live on just the snacks at Disneyland.) I like to have snacks that I can eat while I’m exploring the park or waiting in line for a ride. These are my top 8 snacks that you can grab and go.
Popcorn
Popcorn has been a staple at Disneyland since opening day. It’s salty and buttery and an easy snack to carry with you as you stroll through the parks. Not only is it delicious, but you can also purchase special popcorn buckets.
Mickey Pretzel
Everything tastes better when it’s Mickey shaped and the soft pretzel is no exception! My favorite way to eat a Mickey Pretzel is to dip it in warm cheese sauce. You can find Mickey Pretzels at several food carts around the parks.
Mickey Beignets
I tried these for the first time in August and I can’t believe I waited that long! Deep fried and covered in powdered sugar, these beignets are scrumptious! And they come with raspberry and vanilla dipping sauces if you get them at Café Orleans (table service restaurant). Do not wait to try these! The best place to get beignets is at the Mint Julep Bar.
Dole Whip
This snack made my list because almost everyone I know loves it. I’m the exception to the rule (I just don’t like pineapple). Dole Whips are a great blend of sweet and refreshing pineapple soft serve. Here’s a tip for getting one sooner than the average guest: the line is shorter on the Tiki Room side of the counter.
Churro Bites
The churro is another staple of Disneyland. You can find them at carts throughout the park but the churro bites can only be found at the Cozy Cone Motel in Cars Land. These deep fried bite-size bits of goodness are covered in cinnamon and sugar and even come with a chocolate dipping sauce.
Hand-Scooped Ice Cream
Cookie dough ice cream in a waffle cone-yum! There’s no better snack on a hot day than sweet, delicious, hand-scooped ice cream. You can get this cool snack at the Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor in Disneyland as well as Clarabelle’s in California Adventure.
Fudge
So many flavors to choose from! Peanut butter, chocolate, rocky road and maple walnut are just a few of the regular flavors. Seasonal options are also available at different times throughout the year. Creamy and smooth, this decadent snack comes in big, ready-to-eat squares. You can find fudge in multiple candy shops throughout the resort.
Corn Dog
This snack is sometimes more filling than other snacks. They aren’t your regular everyday corn dogs. These are hand-dipped in a sweet cornbread batter and fried to a crispy, dark golden brown. You can find them at Corn Dog Castle or the Little Red Wagon.
What’s your favorite Disneyland snack? Let me know in the comments!

The talents of three of the world’s greatest storytellers – Roald Dahl, Walt Disney and Steven Spielberg finally unite to bring Dahl’s beloved classic “The BFG” to life. Directed by Spielberg, Disney’s “The BFG” tells the imaginative story of a young girl and the Giant who introduces her to the wonders and perils of Giant Country. “I think it was kind of genius of Roald Dahl to be able to empower the children.
It was very, very brave of him to introduce that combination of darkness and light which was so much Disney’s original signature in a lot of their earlier works like in ‘Dumbo,’ ‘Fantasia,’ ‘Snow White’ and ‘Cinderella,’ and being able to do scary, but also be redemptive at the same time and teach a lesson, an enduring lesson, to everyone, it was a wonderful thing for Dahl to have done, and it was one of the things that attracted me to want to direct this Dahl book,” says Spielberg.
The BFG (Mark Rylance), while a giant himself, is a Big Friendly Giant and nothing like the other inhabitants of Giant Country. Standing 24-feet tall with enormous ears and a keen sense of smell, he is endearingly dim-witted and keeps to himself for the most part. Giants like Bloodbottler (Bill Hader) and Fleshlumpeater (Jemaine Clement) on the other hand, are twice as big and at least twice as scary and have been known to eat humans, while the BFG prefers Snozzcumber and Frobscottle. Upon her arrival in Giant Country, Sophie, a precocious 10-year-old girl from London, is initially frightened of the mysterious giant who has brought her to his cave, but soon comes to realize that the BFG is actually quite gentle and charming, and, having never met a giant before, has many questions. The BFG brings Sophie to Dream Country where he collects dreams and sends them to children, teaching her all about the magic and mystery of dreams.
Having both been on their own in the world up until now, their affection for one another quickly grows. But Sophie’s presence in Giant Country has attracted the unwanted attention of the other giants, who have become increasingly more bothersome. Says Spielberg, “It’s a story about friendship, it’s a story about loyalty and protecting your friends and it’s a story that shows that even a little girl can help a big giant solve his biggest problems.” Sophie and the BFG soon depart for London to see Queen Victoria (Penelope Wilton) and warn her of the precarious giant situation, but they must first convince the Queen and her maid, Mary (Rebecca Hall), that giants do indeed exist. Together, they come up with a plan to get rid of the giants once and for all.

Originally created as a bedtime story, “The BFG” was Dahl’s own favorite of all his stories. “It was very important for us to be loyal to the language,” says Spielberg, “and the great writer Melissa Mathison, who also wrote ‘E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial,’ wrote “The BFG.”

After 35 years Walt Disney World Resorts has welcomed home the Three Caballeros Figures, Panchito, José Carioca, and Donald Duck, which were part of the Mickey Mouse Revue when Magic Kingdom first opened on October 1, 1971.
The Three Caballeros played an important role in Walt Disney World history. In April of 1969 media and government officials received their first look at “Project Florida”, which included the Three Caballeros along with other concept artwork, scale model of the master plan, and other attraction figures. This preview was what gave first proof to the media that what Walt was building was not only going to be completed, but that it would be amazing, like none other.
The Mickey Mouse Revue was one of Walt’s original ideas that consisted of 96 Audio-Animatronic Disney Characters that would play music led by none other than Mickey Mouse. A highlight of the show was when the Three Caballeros performed the theme song from their 1944 film and the grand finale of all the characters joining together to sing “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Da”.
The Three Caballeros found a new home at Tokyo Disney when the ride was moved there, opening in April of 1983. The stayed for 26 years until the ride closed to make way for Mickey’s PhilharMagic. The figures haven’t been seen since, with the exception of an appearance as part of the D23’s Destination D: Walt Disney World 40th in 2011, until December 4, 2015.
They made their debut as the finale of Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros, in the Mexico Pavilion of Epcot’s World Showcase, where you can see the sing and samba once again! They have replaced the screen that was serving as the finale previously.
With Magic Kingdom getting ready to celebrate its 45th Anniversary on October 1, 2016, it’s exciting to have pieces that were original to Walt Disney World Resorts make a reappearance! The Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros is a great ride to check out while enjoying your time around World Showcase. On your next trip through World Showcase, enjoy great food and drinks around the world, and make sure to stop in and welcome back The Three Caballeros.

According to a report from WFTV, Andrew Gerson a lawyer from Miami attempted to sneak a gun by Disney World Security Guards on his way into the Magic Kingdom last Friday afternoon. He was questioned by Disney Security about a bulge on his person which was actually a snub nose revolver with hollow tip bullets. Promptly an Orange Country Sheriff’s deputy was notified and Gerson was immediately detained.
“He did the right thing,” said Orange County Capt. Angelo Nieves. “He offered the commands, and the subject did obey and surrendered to the deputy.”
Gerson claimed he had a conceal carry permit but upon investigation deputies stated the permit expired 10 years ago.
“We immediately engaged law enforcement and the matter was resolved quickly and without incident,” a Walt Disney World representative said. “Our policies are clear, and we have zero tolerance for any violation of them.”
Andrew Gerson was charged with illegally carrying a concealed weapon and bonded out of jail.
