Fortnite fans are about to score a Victory Royale… if they can survive. Universal has officially announced that Fortnite’s annual Halloween event, Fortnitemares, is coming to Halloween Horror Nights as an all-new scare zone at both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood.

Beginning August 28 at Universal Orlando Resort and September 3 at Universal Studios Hollywood, guests will be able to step directly into the eerie world of Fortnitemares. The scare zone transforms the streets into Freaky Fields, a Halloween themed battleground where danger lurks around every corner. As guests make their way through the zone, they’ll come face to face with the iconic Battle Bus, encounter fan favorite Fortnitemares characters, and even discover brand-new characters created exclusively for Halloween Horror Nights.

The experience is inspired by Fortnite’s annual Fortnitemares event, which brings spooky new gameplay, haunted locations, and horror-inspired characters into the massively popular game each fall. Halloween Horror Nights takes that concept into the real world, surrounding guests with an immersive environment where they’ll have to dodge monsters and fight their way through the living battlefield.

Fans can also gear up before the event even begins. New Fortnitemares merchandise is already available at Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood, including a graphic T-shirt, decal set, and acrylic collectible. The collection also arrives on Shop Universal beginning July 23.

It looks like more updates are on the way for Alien Swirling Saucers at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Walt Disney Imagineering has filed a new permit that points to additional changes at the Toy Story Land attraction, this time focusing on new signage following recent adjustments to the ride’s loading process.

The permit has been awarded to Design Communications Ltd., a company that has worked on signage for several recent Walt Disney World projects, including the reimagined Animation Courtyard, the refreshed Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, and ongoing updates at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

While the permit does not reveal exactly what signs will be installed, it likely ties into the ride’s recently introduced numbered boarding system. Guests visiting Alien Swirling Saucers may have noticed new numbered stars in the queue’s holding area along with clearly numbered ride vehicles. The updated process is designed to make boarding more organized, and new signage would help explain the system and direct guests to their assigned vehicle more efficiently.

This latest permit also appears to build on another project filed earlier this year for set installation work at the attraction, suggesting Disney continues to make operational improvements in Toy Story Land. Maximum effort isn’t over just yet! Ryan Reynolds has confirmed that another Deadpool movie is on the way… eventually. While no official announcement has been made by Marvel Studios, the actor recently reassured fans that the Merc with a Mouth still has plenty of stories left to tell.

Speaking during a panel at Fanatics Fest, Reynolds teased that there are still countless comic book moments he wants to bring to the big screen. He mentioned storylines from Deadpool co-creator Fabian Nicieza and acclaimed comic writer Gerry Duggan that have yet to be explored, before dropping the news fans were hoping to hear.

“There’s eventually, you know, will be another Deadpool film. So it’s going to be great,” Reynolds said.

While Marvel has not officially commented on Reynolds’ remarks, the actor has previously shared that he sees Deadpool’s future a little differently than his solo adventures of the past. Earlier this year, Reynolds explained that he envisions Wade Wilson becoming more of a supporting character rather than continuing to headline every appearance.

“I don’t think I am ever going to center him again,” Reynolds said during an interview on the Sunday Sitdown with Willie Geist podcast. “He is a supporting character. He is a guy who is great in a group.”

That philosophy also extends to Deadpool’s place within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Reynolds has said he’d love to see the character continue crossing paths with the X-Men and Avengers, but believes Deadpool works best as the perpetual outsider.

According to Reynolds, if Deadpool were ever fully accepted as an Avenger or an X-Man, it would effectively complete the character’s story. His awkward humor, fourth-wall breaking antics, and constant search for acceptance all depend on him remaining just outside the superhero spotlight.

Following the massive success of Deadpool & Wolverine, it seems Marvel’s most unconventional hero isn’t hanging up the red suit anytime soon. While fans may have to wait for an official announcement, Reynolds has made it clear that Wade Wilson still has another chapter waiting to be written.
