Disneyland Railroad and Rivers of America attractions at Disneyland will reopen in 2017

We have some great news from Disneyland… The Disneyland Railroad and Rivers of America will be reopening in the summer of 2017 at Disneyland!

This includes all attractions along the Rivers of America such as:

“Fantasmic!”
Mark Twain Riverboat and Sailing Ship Columbia
Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island
Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes

Rivers of America will feature a gorgeous new riverbank and an elevated trestle over which the iconic Disneyland Railroad will travel. For now, be sure to stop by the Main Street and New Orleans Square stations now to get an up-close look at the steam engines of the Disneyland Railroad.

No other details have been released at this time.

Flying Fish to start taking Reservations Tomorrow

Starting Tomorrow, July 29th, you can start making reservations again for Flying Fish at Disney’s Boardwalk. We had mentioned a while back that Flying fish was undergoing both cosmetic and menu upgrades, so we are super excited to be able to check it out once it officially re-opens on August 3rd.

As you can see, the new menu is still strongly focused on seafood, but still has some fantastic meat offerings as well for those non-seafood lovers out there. Will you be making your reservation tomorrow?

The Muppets will Appear in an All-New Live Show at Magic Kingdom this Fall

The Muppets are coming to Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom this fall in an all-new live show called “The Muppets Present…Great Moments in American History.” The show is scheduled to debut in October 2016 and will feature an original song and plenty of wacky Muppets humor.

Sam Eagle, the fiercely patriotic American eagle who is forever trying to set a high moral standard for the Muppets, will join Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, The Great Gonzo and James Jefferson, town crier of Liberty Square, as they gather outside The Hall of Presidents to present historical tales in hysterical fashion as only they can. From the midnight ride of Paul Revere to the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the Muppets appear throughout the day to share with Guests, their own unique take on the founding fathers and the birth of the United States of America.

Princess Elena of Avalor is now Available as a Profile Picture in My Disney Experience

Princess Elena of Avalor is now available as a character choice in the profile section of “My Disney Experience”. La princesa Elena is the first Disney princess inspired by diverse Latin cultures.

She will begin making appearances in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort in August and at Disneyland Resort this fall. The new TV series “Elena of Avalor” premiered this summer on the Disney Channel.

The Diamond Horseshoe Advanced Dining Reservations now Available

Totally Chic Disney Inspired Shower Curtains

If you’ve ever wanted to turn your bathroom into a royal princess room, you now can! These Chic Disney Inspired Shower Curtains and bath mats, from SweetPeaPetiteShop on Etsy are a cute, but sophisticated take on Disney princess designs.

I love the soft pastel colors, that are still reminiscent of each princesses’ classic color motif. The quotes embody the essence of the princesses with out being overtly cartoonish, which gives a subtle twist for showing off your Disney Side. The shower curtains are made of a water resistant fabric with 12 holes for hooks to hang through. For the bath mats, the top of each rug is made from a super soft plush material that is also mold-resistant and machine washable! Bottom of the rug is made of a durable white rubber mat to keep the rug in place. These seem just lovely, now to decide which princess I want to decorate my bathroom with!

This Stitch Garden Post is So Sweet!

One of my favorite things about summer is sitting outside and enjoying all of the beauty it has to offer, while the kids run and play. I love all the colorful flowers, and butterflies that flock to them, so I love a decorated garden. I think I squealed when I discovered this perfectly adorable Stitch Garden Post.

What I love most about this post, is how understated it is. The colors are very Stitch, but it’s not too loud and bright as to distract from the natural beauty of the garden. It stands about 10 inches tall, so even if you don’t have a garden, it’ll fit nicely in an indoor potted plant. The tiny pineapple detail, is honestly the icing on the cake to me! It’s just too cute!

Celebrate the Magic will close for Maintenance for most of August

WDW Magic announced today that the fan favorite Celebrate the Magic, a projection show on Cinderella’s Castle, will be going dark from August 5th – 30th, with shows resuming on Aug 31st for guests. The show will temporarily close for maintenance and upgrades to the projectors that are used in the nightly projection and light show.

We’re not sure if this means that the Wishes Fireworks Spectacular will be halted as well, but as soon as we know more, we will be sure to pass that info along to you!

New Training Playlists from Walt Disney Records available for RunDisney Runners

Attention all RunDisney enthusiasts! Disney announced today that RunDisney and Walt Disney Records have teamed up to create some new Disney-themed music playlists in Spotify for those of you training for upcoming RunDisney races! The races that currently have Playlists available are the Disneyland 1/2 Marathon, Marvel Super Heroes 1/2 Marathon, and the Wine and Dine 1/2 Marathon.

The experts at Walt Disney Records picked a variety of songs, which really set the tone for each race weekend. Each playlist is already loaded in Spotify through the links provided below. Whether you listen to the playlist while you are running, packing or on the plane to the event or just want to listen to a great playlist, we have a few for you! Brie Larson Confirmed for ‘Captain Marvel’

Brie Larson has been having a good year. Earlier in 2016 she won an Oscar for her work in ‘Room’ and now she’s Marvel’s newest superhero.

Disney and Marvel announced at San Diego Comic Con that Larson will star in ‘Captain Marvel’ as Carol Danvers. Danvers is the awesome air force pilot who receives her super powers through an alien encounter.

This will be Marvel’s first film to center on a female character. ‘Captain Marvel’ is scheduled for release in March of 2019.

Co-writing the screenplay are “Guardians of the Galaxy” writer Nicole Perlman and “Inside Out’s” Meg LeFauve. No director has been announced.
