Disney knocked out last year’s number one, Royal Caribbean down a spot with Norwegian and Holland American Line right behind them. Carnival Cruise Line did not make the list at all.
Disney Cruise Line benefits from its ‘master brand’ equity and is the family cruise line of choice for Gen X and Millennial families according to vice president of brand solutions at Nielsen Holdings N.V., Joan Sinopoli. Nielsen Holdings N.V. is the owner of Harris Poll.
Sinopoli said:
“What’s interesting about cruise lines is that each generation has their favorite cruise line brand, Disney displays the highest brand equity among Generation X, which makes sense given it is the largest generation with younger children. Norwegian Cruise Line and its ‘freestyle cruising’ — with the freedom to dress up or down, no set dining times and no fixed schedule — is popular with millennials, and baby boomers bestow Holland America, known for its elegant yet laid back atmosphere, the highest equity ratings.”
Disney Cruise Lines departs from 5 different ports and travels to many fun-filled ports of call for families, as well as has its own private island in the Bahamas. There are special holiday cruises and fun days at sea including Star Wars and Frozen deck parties. With 4 amazing ships there is something for everyone.

Twitter user @MaagicConch was able to capture an incident that occurred Sunday night with one of the Disney Characters at the Hollywood Studios performance of Fantasmic.
As you can see in the video Dopey falls off the upper level of the character boat onto Goofy on the first level. Chip runs over to assist Dopey while he is on the ground.
We were able to find a second video with a more straight on shot of the incident from twitter user @ariipariee
Disney’s Theatrical Production and Alex Timbers have gone their separate ways on the developing production of “Frozen”. “Making the tough calls when creating a new Broadway musical is never easy, but this was especially painful,” said Thomas Schumacher, the president and producer of Disney Theatrical Productions, in a statement. “Alex Timbers is one of the most exciting and innovative theater directors I know, and we’ve proudly worked with him from my support of the early development of ‘Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson’ through our work together on ‘Peter and the Starcatcher.’ Though we have chosen to go in another direction with this role, we are committed to seeing ‘Frozen’s’ tremendous theatrical potential brought to life onstage.”
Disney is still looking for a replacement for Timbers, and it’s not clear whether the change will affect the announced production timeline. “Frozen” has been scheduled for a pre-Broadway run at Denver Center for the Performing Arts in the summer 2017, ahead of a spring 2018 opening on Broadway.
Timbers co-directed “Peter and the Starcatcher,” the stage show developed by Disney on the way to a Tony-winning Broadway run. “Frozen” is a much larger production with far higher stakes for Disney; both DTP and Timbers are not talking on the exact reason for the exit.
Earlier this year, Timbers directed a developmental lab of “Frozen” with a crew of actors that included Betsy Wolfe (“Bullets Over Broadway,” the upcoming “Falsettos”) as Elsa, Patti Murin (“Lysistrata Jones”) as Anna and Okieriete Onaodowan (“Hamilton”) as Kristoff. (Actors who appear in a show during development work don’t always appear in the future premiere.)
The “Frozen” creative team also lost choreographer Peter Darling in recent months, replaced by Christopher Gattelli (“Newsies). Presently, “Frozen,” adapted by movie co-creators Jennifer Lee, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, is scheduled for Denver next summer, with exact run dates still to be set. The precise details for the spring 2018 engagement on Broadway have yet to be determined. Rumors have it that the show will end up at the St. James Theater, but that hasn’t been officially confirmed.
These beautiful signs are a foot tall and are printed on a dimensional board. I love the elegant backdrop of grey with the contrasting white Mickey heads. The black and red letters on top also really make the phrase POP! The sign comes pre-mounted and even comes with foam tape on the back that you can hang the sign with, talk about convenient! They have a nice, sturdy, thick look to them, and are printed on a lightweight heavy-duty board. I think these would be fabulous in a living room or dining room on an accent wall, perhaps surrounded with a collage of frames filled with Disney vacation pictures. You can check out these great signs in their shop here: Love, Laughter & Disney Sign.

Disney Animation Studios’ “Moana,” opens in theaters nationwide on Nov. 23, 2016. Directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, who were behind “The Little Mermaid” and “Aladdin,” the film features an awesome roll call of characters brought to life by a talented group of actors.
“Moana” showcases the life-changing journey of a tenacious 16-year-old who teams up with the mighty demigod Maui to fulfill an ancient quest.
“Our assembled voice cast for this film is beyond our wildest dreams,” said Musker. “We are so fortunate to have this group of talented actors, many from Oceania, breathing life into their characters.”
Added Clements, “We are so thankful to have found such extraordinary people who not only capture the voices of these characters, they elevate them in every way.”
Joining Cravalho and Johnson are the following performers.
• JEMAINE CLEMENT (“The BFG,” “Despicable Me,” “Rio,” “Rio 2,” “What We Do in the Shadows,” Flight of the Conchords) provides the voice of TAMATOA, a self-absorbed, 50-foot crab who lives in Lalotai, the realm of monsters. The conceited crustacean wants to be more than a “bottom feeder” and overcompensates for this perceived shortcoming by covering himself in all things shiny.
• RACHEL HOUSE (“Whale Rider,” “Hunt for the Wilderpeople”) lends her voice to GRAMMA TALA, Moana’s confidante and best friend, who shares her granddaughter’s special connection to the ocean. Although her son Tui, the chief of Motunui, is a no-nonsense leader, Gramma Tala most definitely dances to the beat of her own drum.
• TEMUERA MORRISON (“Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones,” “Once Were Warriors,” “Six Days, Seven Nights”) voices Moana’s father, CHIEF TUI, the gregarious and well-respected leader of the people of Motunui Island. Chief Tui wants Moana to follow in his footsteps as leader of their people, but fears his daughter’s draw to the ocean and the world that lies beyond their reef.
• NICOLE SCHERZINGER (Grammy®-nominated singer, West End’s “Cats”) voices Moana’s mother, SINA, who always has her daughter’s back. Playful, sharp and strong-willed, Sina appreciates Moana’s longing to be on the water, but also wants to protect her daughter from the fabled dangers beyond the reef.
• ALAN TUDYK, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ lucky charm (“Zootopia,” “Wreck-It Ralph,” “Big Hero 6”), is behind the voice of HEIHEI. Heihei is one dumb rooster—the village idiot, in fact. When the clueless chicken accidently stows away on Moana’s canoe, he lands a front-row seat for her epic journey.
The roster of characters also includes the KAKAMORA, an intense team of crazy, coconut-armored pirates who will stop at nothing to get what they want, and PUA, Moana’s loyal pet pig with puppy energy and an innocent puppy brain.
ABOUT THE MOVIE:
Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped – and no one knows why. From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes “Moana,” a sweeping, CG-animated feature film about an adventurous teenager who sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana (voice of Auliʻi Cravalho) meets the mighty demigod Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), who guides her in her quest to become a master wayfinder. Together, they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds, and along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity. Directed by the renowned filmmaking team of Ron Clements and John Musker (“The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” “The Princess & the Frog”) and produced by Osnat Shurer (“Lifted,” “One Man Band”), “Moana” sails into U.S. theaters on Nov. 23, 2016.
