Its a banner year for Magic Kingdom with 45th Anniversary celebrations kicking off on October 1st. Though it certainly won’t be on the same scale as Disneyland’s 60th Anniversary, details ares slowly trickling in as to how Disney World plans to ring in this special day in Magic Kingdom’s history. Here’s what we know so far:
Special Celebration in front of Cinderella’s Castle– Those visiting the Magic Kingdom on October 1st will get to take in a special presentation (the details of which have yet to be released) at the Forecourt Stage directly in front of the Castle at 9:30am. So be sure to get to the park bright and early.
Merchandise – For those who have yet to see the unboxing of Magic Kingdom’s 45th Anniversary Merchandise.

From t-shirts, keychains, MagicBands, exclusive pins to stunning Dooney and Bourke bags, 45th Anniversary collectors items will definitely be flying off the shelves so get yours while supplies last.
Food and Drink – As with any good Disney celebration guests can also ring in Magic Kingdom’s anniversary by tucking in to some delightful snacks created specifically for the occasion. Disney’s is being a bit secretive in terms what exactly will be on offer though we do know that you’ll want to pop by either Main Street Bakery or Gaston’s Tavern to find out.
The Disney rumor mill is buzzing with other possible happenings in and around Magic Kingdom’s on October 1st, from Character Meet and Greets to other special events so watch this space and we’ll keep you updated as and when details start to trickle in.

Disney chief executive Bob Iger has stated that another film in the Star Wars series of stand-alone “anthology” movies is set for release in 2020.
In remarks made to the Goldman Sachs Communacopia conference, Iger said that a writer had been hired to work on the film. This would be the third in the series that will begin with the release of the Gareth Edwards-directed “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” in December 2016, and followed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller’s as yet untitled Han Solo film, due for release in May 2018.
The Star Wars franchise as a whole shows no signs of slowing down: with episodes eight and nine of the main series due for release in 2017 and 2019 respectively, Iger said he had recently met Luscasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy and “started talking about what we’re going to do in 2021 and beyond”.
A black SUV on it’s way to the Magic Kingdom veered off the road and crashed into one of the Walt Disney World Road signs near Epcot and closed down traffic for all 3 lanes.
The accident occurred just after 2pm EST, and EMS was on the scene immediately.
One person was hospitalized Saturday afternoon and taken to Celebration Hospital.
All traffic has been diverted away from the accident for the time being.

Now is your chance! Adventures by Disney will be filming a commercial in Iceland and is looking for families to include. The good news is not only will you get to be in the commercial you will also get paid $10,000.00 and a trip to Iceland paid for by Disney!
Here are the requirements:
The company wants a family of four. You can apply if you have a larger family, BUT only you, your partner and two children will be able to go on the trip.
Due to the shoot date quickly approaching, families must have passports already or be able to get them within two weeks!
You and your partner in your 20s-50s, children must be between between the ages of 8-16.
All ethnic groups are welcome to apply!
All four family members must be available to travel for 7-8 days between Oct. 1-15, 2016.

Earlier this week we shared with you the news about Disney’s Moana costume and all the complaints it was receiving online. We have just received word that Disney has pulled its controversial “Moana” costume from their online store.
The costume based off the Dwayne Johnson’s character Maui from the film, consisted of a brown suit with tribal tattoos and leaf skirt.
Disney Released the following statement on Wednesday:
“The team behind ‘Moana’ has taken great care to respect the cultures of the Pacific Islands that inspired the film, and we regret that the Maui costume has offended some, “We sincerely apologize and are pulling the costume from our website and stores.”
Disney values their fans and I know would never intentionally offend anyone. Great job Disney!
