“Pete’s Dragon” Blu-Ray Review

I’ll just come out and say it, I loved “Pete’s Dragon.” The effects, the directing, the actors, the story, the dragon! I loved it. So getting it on Blu-Ray is a necessity. Besides the wonderful movie itself, owning the Blu-Ray is totally worth it, because of the bonus features.

The director, David Lowery, kept a journal and wrote about his experience with the film. From the day before filming began to his plane ride home after wrap. It was lovely to hear about his adventure.

Twitter Announces Live Streaming Event with Disney and People for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Twitter today announced it is collaborating with Disney and People to live stream exclusively a special Rogue One: A Star Wars Story event. The live stream, hosted by People, will feature the debut of never-before-seen content from Rogue One followed by a Q&A with the director and cast members from the film.

Live coverage will start on Friday, December 2nd at 10am PT, streaming from a surprise location. The live stream will be available worldwide to Twitter’s logged-in and logged-out audience on Twitter and connected devices and can be found at RogueOne.twitter.com, in Twitter Moments and through @StarWars and @people.

The experience will give Star Wars fans a sneak peek of the highly anticipated film ahead of its December 16 release date, and will include behind-the-scenes commentary during a live discussion with Director Gareth Edwards, Lucasfilm President and Producer Kathleen Kennedy, and cast members including Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk and Riz Ahmed. The Q&A will be hosted by People’s Deputy Editor, JD Heyman. Fans can submit questions on Twitter for the cast to answer during the event by Tweeting with #AskRogueOne. Fans can also Tweet with the following hashtags and a Star Wars Twitter emoji will automatically appear: #RogueOne, #DeathStar, #StarWars and #StarWarsRogueOne.

People is also releasing a special newsstand edition on Nov. 30 called Star Wars: The Secrets of Rogue One, featuring a VR bonus including goggles, in addition to the original People Special — Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which is premiering Nov. 30 on the People/Entertainment Weekly Network (PEN).

What if The Mos Eisley was a tropical Tiki Bar? Well I bet they’d serve up some delicious drinks in these Star Wars Geeki Tikis by Think Geek! Or maybe that’s just my own nerdy patio!

What better tiki mug to drink from than one that looks like a character from the Star Wars? Choose to drink with Boba Fett, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, R2-D2, a Stormtrooper, or Yoda. Each holds about 14 oz. and has a contrasting interior, which will make you happy when you get to the bottom of the drink and have to ask, “But why is the rum gone?” Or at least, it’ll entertain you a little. We think the lack of rum has something to do with moisture farming, but you didn’t hear it from us.

Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away Temporarily Closed at Hollywood Studios

We hear from our friends at Orlando Theme Park News that Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away will be temporarily unavailable at Disney’s Hollywood Studios from November 29 until December 7, 2016. The show will begin to be performed as normal starting from December 8. A Cast Member and temporary signs will be located in front of the Chinese Theatre to help communicate this downtime to Guests. No official statement was issued as to the reason behind the closing, but we’ll keep you updated if we learn more. For the time being, Star Wars fans should be sure to check out the Star Wars Launch Bay and Star Tours instead.

New Live Action “Beauty And The Beast” Image Released

In an exclusive interview with Empire magazine Luke Evans (Gaston) and Emma Watson (Belle) talks about the upcoming live action “Beauty and the Beast”. It also comes with a newly released image from the film.

“He gets as dark as any Disney character could possibly get”, says Luke Evans. The character, while still comic relief, is also an ex-soldier – there are, according to Evans, several shades to him. “This is a man who, for the first time in his life, hasn’t got what he wanted.”

Belle (AKA Emma Watson), having been a “Beauty and the Beast” fan as a child. “Belle was one of my idols growing up,” she tells Empire. “I knew every word to the animation. I was born in Paris like Belle. We both love books, obviously. She is someone who doesn’t really feel like she fits in, but she finds her place in the world and uses what makes her different. She was just inspiring to me.”

The live action version of “Beauty and the Beast” is set to be released March 17th 2017.

Geyser Point Bar and Grill Opening at Wilderness Lodge Next Summer

Disney released details this week of Wilderness Lodge’s newest eatery slated to open sometime during the Summer of 2017. The Geyser Point Bar and Grill is part of the recent expansion to the DVC Villas at Wilderness Lodge which have recently been renamed Boulder Ridge Villas.

Geyser Point will be located in the heart of a new feature pool area. The open layout means that members and guests can grab a bite to eat as they lounge by the resort’s main pool.

Also, the pool (formerly known as the Hidden Springs) has gone through a complete re-imagining. The new pool area is slated to feature an expanded sun deck and a zero-entry pool while enhancing its Pacific Northwest theming. A “Boulder Ridge Railway and Mining Co” water tower will cast a prominent figure over the new pool area which has been modeled after a rock quarry.

Wilderness Lodge has also announced that in addition to the new amenities listed above there will also be an additional quick service restaurant though no further details regarding the eatery have been announced at this time.

Guests planning on visiting Wilderness Lodge in the months ahead are advised to check back for further details regarding the expansions and renovations taking place including the hotly anticipated lakefront cabins.

Advance tickets are on sale now for Lucasfilm’s highly anticipated standalone Star Wars adventure “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.” Tickets are available wherever tickets are sold.

Additionally, to kick off ticket sales, a new TV spot is now available, featuring the chilling sounds of an iconic villain:

Bus Stop Pizza Kiosks Open at Two of the All Star Resorts

As previous guests at the All Star Resorts could probably tell you, if you have a hankering for a slice of pizza after a long day at the parks, be prepared to wait in line. Especially in the late hours of the evening, pizza lines at the All Star food courts can reach Peter Pan’s Flight like proportions. Thankfully, Disney has heeded the pizza-lover’s call and on November 23rd unveiled new quick service kiosks at both All Star Movies and Music that will offer pizzas curbside.

Having the kiosks near the bus stops means that families arriving back at the resort after visiting the theme parks can pick up pizza for the family without having to trek through the lobby or wait in long food court lines.

Anticipating the urge of late-night guests to have a slice, the kiosks will only be open between the hours of 7pm and 10pm. The two locations dubbed “Intermission Express “at All-Star Music and “World Premier Express” at All Star Movies will offer a very simplified menu with cheese and pepperoni pizzas on offer. However, what it lacks in variety, it certainly makes up for in terms of convenience.

No further information has been given as of going to print regarding costs or whether or not the pizza can be purchased as part of the Disney Dining Plan. Guests are encouraged to watch this space for further details.
