Is Disney working on a magic band replacement

Disney Investigating New RFID Ticket Media to Replace Current MagicBands - WDW N

According to Magic Band Collectors Disney is working on the next evolution of Magic Bands that is similar to the Fitbit Zip TrackerIs Disney working on a magic band replacement. A post on the FCC’s system for MagicBand ID Q3E-MB-R1G2 website shows this new puck style design that would work with a interchangeable strap. The new system is a cost saving measure as guests could keep the same “puck” and change out straps lowering both IT support costs and the overall cost of shipping new Magic Bands every trip.

Screen-Shot-2016-08-15-at-5.00.18-PM

This new Magic Band devices are in the testing phase now and what we hear will use a similar rf transmitter as the current devices.

For many of us if you visit the parks regularly your My Disney Experience app is full of vacation Magic Bands and even custom ones like these popular Dooney & Bourke Designer Bands. Disney is hoping these new pucks will help alleviate some of the back-end database clutter and save some money in the long run.

I am just summarizing all of this you can read up on it here, if you are into that sorta thing.

So what do you think? Good idea or are you happy with the Magic Bands we have now?

Colorful Disney Pillows that Add a Splash of Pop Art

Colorful Disney Pillows 1

With back to school in just a week for me, I’ve been looking to maybe fill some of my free time with redecorating. I just had to share these colorful Disney pillows I found! They really stand out with bold patterns and vibrant patterns!

This is definitely for a bolder touch of Mickey & Minnie in the home. However, if my friends and family don’t realize I’m Disney obsessed by now, they haven’t been paying attention to me haha.  I love how although each one is very different, they have similar bold colors that pull them together. These are perfect for a very mod style. They are also very good sized pillows at 18 inches. They are also designed to handle outdoors so you can use them on a patio too!

Weddings

For those with dreams of exchanging vows at Walt Disney World, Disney Weddings announced plans today to give their Wedding Pavilion  a “new look” with a refurbishment that promises the same magical surroundings but with updated decor.

The concept art shown above reveals that among the projected enhancements will be the addition of chandeliers and new seating for the 250 guests that the venue can accommodate.

Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe Adds Rocket Ship Cup and Increases Prices

IMG 2325

Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe

Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, at the Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, has added a Souvenir Rocket Ship Cup to their Kids’ Meals. They have also raised prices on all meals, including Kids’ Meals, by $1.00-$2.00.  These changes took place last week, per a Cast Member at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe.

The Kids’ Meal cups feature the Fab Five wearing space suits and they are surrounded by planets and stars.  The cup also sports a snap-on lid with re-usable straw.  Other than the addition of the Rocket Ship Cup, and the higher price tag, the Kids’ Meals remain exactly the same.  Each meal includes an entrée, 2 sides, and a kid-size drink of choice.  French fries can still be substituted for carrots or grapes at no additional charge.  And, as always, a cup of ice water is free.

All meals on Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe menu have been increased by $1.00-$2.00 each.  While the addition of the Souvenir Rocket Ship Cup to the Kids’ Meals is a welcome addition, there is no such incentive for the adult meals.  The ever-popular 1/2 Rotisserie Chicken will set you back $14.49 and the Barbecued Pork Sandwich will cost you $11.99.  Keep in mind that beverages also run you $1.99 for a small carton of milk, $3.29 for a small fountain beverage, and $4.69 if you enjoy ordering the Strawberry Lemonade Slushy.  If your budget is impacted by this increase you can cut costs by asking for a complimentary cup of ice water to go with your meal.

This recent meal price increase certainly makes the Disney Meal Plan options more appealing.  If you are not staying on Walt Disney World Resort property, or are a local visitor, then you do not qualify for the meal plan.  When planning your visit you can search the official Walt Disney World Resort site by restaurant at https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining.  Here you can find any restaurant you are interested in to view menus and pricing.

What do you think about these new changes to Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe Menu? Does this mean kids prices are going up at other restaurants as well? Please leave your comments in the box below.

The Disney World Crane Returns to Walt Disney World

WDW

WDW

Back in time to ruin all of those Magic Kingdom photos is the Disney World Crane! Unfortunately this is a necessary evil as Cinderella’s Castle needs work done every year. The crane will be assisting in castle roof repair, painting and then when that is complete the holiday lights will be put up.

14017902_1277142368996516_1811626122_n

Expect the World Famous Disney World Crane to be photobombing your photos for the next few months then again in January to bring all the lights back down.

You can follow the Disney World Crane on Facebook and become famous (not really) by sharing your crane photos.

If the crane likes your photo watch for a post oozing with sarcasm to appear on the page.

Chop it Like it’s Hot with a Mickey Mouse Cutting Board

Mickey Mouse Cutting Board

I have to confess something about my Mickey Kitchen. Pretty much the only Mickey themed item I don’t have, is a cutting board! Well, you know I had to fix that. How fantastic is this Mickey Mouse Cutting BoardChop it Like it's Hot with a Mickey Mouse Cutting Board I found on Amazon? I think it’ll be the perfect addition to my kitchen.

Bamboo cutting boardsChop it Like it's Hot with a Mickey Mouse Cutting Board are perfect for so many uses in the kitchen. You can use them for chopping veggies, cutting meats, or also to use as a serving board for meats and cheeses. The design is done with engraving, so you won’t have to worry about transfer to your food. Since Mickey is engraved on natural wood, each board will look a little different, giving you a unique item. This would even look great if you put up a hook to hang it from as a display piece.

I also love that this board has a handle, to make it even more versatile as a serving tray. This will probably give me an excuse to do cheese boards whenever guests come over now. Can you imagine Mickey Dinner parties, because I think I need to host one!

Would you use this charming Mickey Mouse Cutting BoardChop it Like it's Hot with a Mickey Mouse Cutting Board, or would you just leave it as a display?
