I can’t lie, I’ve had “How Far I’ll Go” stuck in my head ever since the Moana DVD came out. It’s safe to say, I’m just a little obsessed with Moana. This Moana Hair Bow from WalkAmongStarsBtq on Etsy, is perfect for adding a touch of Disney and Moana no matter how far I go.

Since I can’t get away with wearing a grass skirt every day for after school pick up, I’ve had to find more subtle ways to add a little Moana to my daily life. I love the raw like fabric, which is reminiscent of Moana’s skirt. The coral colored bow and crochet resemble her top perfectly! You can get your bow fastened onto your choice of a french barrette, an elastic hair tie, a fold over elastic headband, or a partly lined alligator clip that includes a no-slip grip to prevent the bow from sliding out of hair. I love options, especially if it means I can wear an adorable Disney touch in multiple ways.

If you aren’t as Moana obsessed as I am, the designer has lots of other beautifully detailed bows inspired by other Disney characters too!

One of the best things about Disney’s PhotoPass and Memory Maker system is the fantastic photos that Walt Disney World magically captures of you riding some of your favorite attractions such as Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, and Tower of Terror.

Disney announced today that beginning on June 19th, Pirates of the Caribbean at the Magic Kingdom will be the latest attraction to offer Photo Capture.  What’s even better is that the shot will have a fantastic treasure-map theme, serving as the perfect memento of your swashbuckling adventure.

Here’s a sneak peek at what the photos will look like.

Guests must be wearing an active MagicBand to have their photos captured on Pirates of the Caribbean where they will be automatically downloaded to your account and can be viewed at MyDisneyPhotoPass.com.  Images will be available to purchase as part of Disney’s PhotoPass service.

For visitors who plan on downloading lots of PhotoPass snaps while at Walt Disney World, your best option is to pre-pay for Disney’s Memory Maker which allows unlimited access and downloads of any of the images captured during your stay.  This includes family photos, character dining, meet and greets, Magic Shots as well as ride photos and videos.  The cost is $169.00 if purchased up to 3 days before your Walt Disney World vacation or $199.00 if purchased just before your stay or while at the theme parks.

 

So next time you’re visiting the Magic Kingdom head on over to Pirates of the Caribbean and have your adventure on the high seas with Captain Jack and crew saved for all posterity.

What do Fantasmic!, Rivers of America and The Disneyland Railroad all have in common? Other than being classic Disneyland experiences, they are all also set to reopen this summer at Disneyland Park!

Fantasmic! – Set to reopen Jul 17

For 25 years, “Fantasmic!” has taken Disneyland park guests on a journey into Mickey Mouse’s imagination, and its return on July 17 – in celebration of the park’s 62nd anniversary – will bring new magic to this beloved nighttime spectacular! The treasured Disneyland park experience guests have loved for years, complete with its original fanfare and theme song, will be taken to brilliant new heights. New mist screens will combine with innovative, state-of-the-art projection technology for brighter and more vibrant visuals than ever before, and the show will feature new scenes inspired by Disney animated classics such as “Aladdin” and “The Lion King.”

Rivers of America – Set to reopen June 16 through July 29

The classic Rivers of America attractions will reopen, starting with Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island this Friday, June 16, followed by Mark Twain Riverboat, Sailing Ship Columbia and Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes on July 29. For decades, guests have traveled the landscapes inspired by four of America’s majestic rivers: the Mississippi, the Columbia, the Missouri and the Rio Grande; each carefully recreated, complete with indigenous rock formations, natural forests and wildlife. The return of these watercraft will bring even more breathtaking views for guests to discover, including an enhanced adventure featuring the new Columbia Gorge section, highlighted by five picturesque waterfalls. Last year, we shared the artist’s rendering above, courtesy of Walt Disney Imagineering, showing the gorgeous new north bank of the Rivers of America, which will feature a beautiful new waterfront.

Disneyland Railroad – Set to reopen July 29

The new waterfront will also include several elevated trestles over which the Disneyland Railroad will travel when it reopens along with the Rivers of America attractions on July 29. An icon for more than 60 years, the Disneyland Railroad holds a special place in the hearts of our guests, and we are excited to take them on the grand circle tour of Walt Disney’s original Magic Kingdom once again. This classic experience will also feature new and enhanced adventures! For the very first time, the Disneyland Railroad will make a left-hand turn to continue around Disneyland park, and I’m excited to tell you that Walt Disney’s legendary dioramas of the Grand Canyon and Primeval World have been carefully restored to their original splendor, with a bit of new magic added to both!

Next Month is the 2017 D23 Expo, and Disney fans will be getting a first look at Disney collectibles and merchandise along with exclusive news about upcoming games and interactive experiences. Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media (DCPI), has promised an action-packed schedule throughout the weekend, with presentations and unveilings happening on the Walt Disney Archives Stage and the D23 Expo Arena. Disney Publishing Worldwide will also unveil  some “behind the pages” information on upcoming titles throughout the weekend!

Programming kicks off on Friday, July 14, the first day of the Expo and continues through the weekend:

●      On Friday, July 14, at 10:30 a.m. in the D23 Expo Arena, Gravity Falls series creator Alex Hirsch and Star vs. The Forces ofEvil series creator Daron Nefcy will discuss what it’s like to bring hit Disney XD series from the screen to page with bestselling titles Gravity Falls: Journal 3 and Star vs. The Forces of Evil: Star and Marco’s Guide to Mastering Every Dimension.

●      Mindy Johnson, author of Ink & Paint: The Women of Walt Disney’s Animation, will interview a panel of animators past and present and share how women make remarkable contributions to the legacy of Walt Disney’s animation studio. The presentation will take place on the Walt Disney Archives Stage on Friday, July 14, at 4:30 p.m.

●      Disney Legends Richard Sherman and Floyd Norman will invite fans to the D23 Expo Arena on Saturday, July 15, at 6 p.m. for a one-of-a-kind discussion about their upcoming book A Kiss Goodnight.

●      Marcy Smothers, author of the upcoming title Eat Like Walt: The Wonderful World of Disney Food, will show guests in the Walt Disney Archives Stage on Sunday, July 16, at 10 a.m. how Walt Disney infused fun and creativity into his food—from his family’s kitchen table to the Happiest Place on Earth.

●      On Sunday, July 16, at 4:15 p.m. on Stage 28, Kingdom Keepers author Ridley Pearson, Disney Legend Marty Sklar, and fellow Imagineers will explore the history of Disney Parks through Maps of Disney Parks: Charting 60 Years from California to Shanghai.

●      Celebrating the 90th anniversary of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Dave Bossert and David Gerstein, authors of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit: The Search for the Lost Disney Cartoons, will showcase the definitive history of the iconic character on Sunday, July 16, at 6 p.m. on Stage 28.

 Throughout the weekend, select authors and artists will be available for signings and meet and greets at Talent Central and the Disney Dream Store.

 

DCPI Pavilion and Oh My Disney Stage

In the DCPI pavilion on the show floor, fans can “Live the Magic” and experience how Disney, Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel can enrich their daily lives. Divided into four distinct lifestyle environments, guests will be able to preview and experience all-new cross-category offerings from Disney’s licensees, authors and artists, including playing the latest games from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars, immersing themselves in the pavilion’s park environment of outdoor play and creativity, or watching cooking demos in the kitchen environment featuring influencers from Disney Family and Disney Publishing Worldwide.

 At the heart of the DCPI pavilion is the Oh My Disney Stage, which will bring the fun, fresh voice of Oh My Disney to life through daily surprise-and-delight moments, including celebrity guests, panels, performances, game shows, toy unboxings, first looks, and a live taping of The Oh My Disney Show hosted by Maker creator Alexys Gabrielle. The stage’s events, programs, and shows will be shared live across the Disney Digital Network’s editorial channels like Oh My Disney, Disney Style, Polaris, and Disney Family and social accounts for every Disney character, franchise, and film. The full Oh My Disney Stage schedule and live streams will be revealed in July.

 Tickets for D23 Expo 2017 are available for $81 for one-day adult admission and $59 for children 3–9. Members of D23: The Official Disney Fan Club can purchase tickets for $72 for a one-day adult admission and $53 for children 3–9. Multi-day tickets are also available. Movie Review Pixar's 'Cars 3'

Lightning McQueen is back on the big screen, but he’s not a rookie anymore. Teased by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Piston-Cup champion finds himself suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves.

While Lightning is still the same self-assured, determined and fun-loving race car audiences fell in love with, his confidence is being tested by the new cars on the track led by up and comer Jackson Storm. Then he meets Cruz Ramirez. Tasked with getting Lightning McQueen back on track after a devastating setback, Cruz isn’t shy. Her training style is high-tech, enthusiastic and she’s not afraid to apply a little tough love. But there’s more to Cruz than meets the eye. She has her own battles to overcome which gives this movie some emotional light on how to overcome your past and do what’s best for your future. Lightning begins to wonder whether he truly belongs out on the racetrack or if he’s going to stop anyone from letting him out there.

Cars 3 Stars Owen Wilson as the voice of Lightning McQueen. Cristela Alonzo who voices tech-savvy trainer Cruz Ramirez, and tries to help #95 return to greatness, and Armie Hammer is the next-gen racer Jackson Storm, whose high-tech speed leaves Lightning McQueen behind. Kerry Washington was cast to voice statistical analyst Natalie Certain, Nathan Fillion provides the voice of brilliant Billionaire Sterling, Lea DeLaria makes her Pixar debut as the formidable school bus Miss Fritter, and Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton helps bring voice command assistant Hamilton to life. Cars 3 is directed by Brian Fee, after working as a storyboard artist for Cars, Ratatouille, and WALL-E, Fee takes full advantage of the Pixar approach to storytelling and makes his directorial debut.

Just because it’s aimed at children doesn’t mean it’s any less capable of sincere emotions. Not to be mistaken with tonal inconsistency, something this film has nothing to worry about. It earns the tone it’s going for. Cars 3 is filled with sincerity. Sure, the message is simple but Cars 3 takes an honest route with it. The driving feels more intense, with several sequences legitimately on par with full throttle action scenes that demand your attention.

Cars 3 teaches us it’s never too late to be great at something you love. It also teaches us to be persistent and follow our dreams. And just because you try your best doesn’t mean you will always come out on top and win. There will always be times when you lose, just like there will always be opportunities to shine.

Disney's Grand Floridian to Host Fourth of July Cookout

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is celebrating America’s birthday with a cookout at the resort’s Summerhouse from 7-8:30 p.m. The fun doesn’t stop there as guests will then move to the Grand Floridian Marina to enjoy desserts while watching the Magic Kingdom‘s 4th of July fireworks. If the weather turns to rain then the event will be moved inside to the Grand Floridian Convention Center.

Fourth of July Cookout

The dinner includes grilled steak and shrimp with plenty of sides. Classic hot dogs and baked beans will also be served with specialty drinks, beer and wine. There’s a live DJ and crafts for kids throughout the evening.

The Frozen Ever After Dessert party will be held select evenings beginning July 17, 2017. Admission is $79 per adult (ages 10 and up) and $47 per child (ages 3 to 9), including tax and gratuity. Separate Epcot admission is also required.

Lightning McQueen and friends will be speeding into theaters this Friday June 16th in the action-packed “Cars 3 .” To celebrate,  Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be handing out a free “Cars 3” buttons to guests visiting the park this Friday.  The buttons will be distributed at the parks Main Entrance.

This is just one of the many ways Disney is celebrating the latest installment in the “Cars” franchise.  As we announced earlier in the week, Cruz Ramirez one of the new stars of Cars 3 will be holding a meet and greet at Pixar Place (near Toy Story Midway Mania) also on June 16th.

Fans will also want to be on the lookout for a whole host of fantastic Cars-themed merchandise being unveiled across Walt Disney World Resort. From MagicBands, t-shirts, toys and pins, you’ll be spoiled for choice.  Check out this article for more info on “Cars” merchandise.

So if you’re heading to the parks this weekend be sure to add a little “Cars” fun to your itinerary.  And for those not on vacation, get those engines running and  head to your local cinema for the latest Pixar “Cars” installment.

Lightning McQueen Documentary To Be Streamed Live on ESPN

Heads up Lightning McQueen fans. It looks like a documentary is being released online tomorrow called “95: The Untold Story of Lightning McQueen”. Directed by Morgan Spurlock, best known for his documentary film “Super Size Me”, this film will be part of ESPN’s 30 for 30 series.

This is a documentary of Lightning McQueen himself and not the making of the film. The third movie of the Cars franchise is set to open in theaters tonight.

Fate of ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Unknown After Allegations of Misconduct and Lawsuit

ABC’s Bachelor in Paradise was scheduled to return to the lineup on August 8 of this year. However, after allegations of misconduct were reported by a producer and now one of the contestants in question confirmed that something inappropriate did happen, it’s unsure that the show will ever make it back on air.

Production of the popular show began on June 4. Previous contestants from the popular Bachelor and Bachelorette franchise arrived in Mexico to take part in the reality show that features “former fan favorites and controversial characters looking for a chance at love.” It is rumored that on the first night of filming two of the contestants were over-served and found themselves in a compromising position in the always popular hot tub. One of the producers there for that shot was concerned that since both contestants were under the influence, they were unable to give consent to anything that was about to happen. The producer went on to file a lawsuit the next day and filming was then immediately suspended.

Warner Brothers, who produces the show, released this statement: “We have become aware of allegations of misconduct on the set of Bachelor in Paradise in Mexico. We have suspended production and we are conducting a thorough investigation of these allegations. Once the investigation is complete, we will take appropriate responsive action.

Corrine Olympios, one of the alleged contestants involved in the incident released the following statement today: “I am a victim and have spent the last week trying to make sense of what happened on June 4.  Although I have little memory of that night, something bad obviously took place, which I understand is why production on the show has now been suspended and a producer on the show has filed a complaint against the production.  As a woman, this is my worst nightmare and it has now become my reality. As I pursue the details and facts surrounding that night and the immediate days after, I have retained a group of professionals to ensure that what happened on June 4 comes to light and I can continue my life, including hiring an attorney to obtain justice and seeking therapy to begin dealing with the physical and emotional trauma stemming from that evening.”

DeMario Jackson, who is rumored to be the other contestant involved in the incident said “no comment” when approached by reporters this week.

It appears that all of the other contestants have left Paradise as well. Instagram user, aprilannstyles, posted the following photo which shows the entire cast at the Puerto Vallarta Airport in Mexico on June 11.

It is almost certain that Bachelor in Paradise will not be returning this season. It is unclear if it will ever air again at this point.
