Is a Haunted Mansion Restaurant Coming to the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World?

magic kingdom

magic kingdom

Hey y’all! It’s Anonymouse back with some spootacular Disney World Gossip about the Haunted Mansion in Walt Disney World!

Have you ever wanted to dine with Hitchhiking Ghosts? Well with gossip coming out today, you might have that chance! A little mouse just told me that a Haunted Mansion-themed restaurant just might be coming to the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World!

We all know Disney is the authority on marketing and branding. Take the Jungle Cruise for example. Disney will be making a movie with this popular attraction serving as the inspiration. The star of the movie, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, also announced that he will be re-imagining the attractions at Disney theme parks worldwide. We also can’t forget about The Jungle Skipper Canteen. The Jungle Cruise-themed restaurant at the Magic Kingdom allows guests to dine immersed in Jungle Cruise paraphernalia with a menu featuring exotic dishes inspired by the tropical rivers featured on the attraction.

Recently, Disney opened a Haunted Mansion-themed store and has been constantly releasing new ride-branded merchandise. The Haunted Mansion is one of the most popular rides at the Magic Kingdom so what would stop Disney from building on it’s popularity?

As always, nothing is official until The Mouse himself confirms it. Anonymouse thinks you should watch this one though. We know Disney can do it and can do it well!

What do you think about this gossip? Would you want to dine with the Hitchhiking Ghosts? Ticket Office Annex Now Available In Liberty Square

Ticket Office Annex Now Available In Liberty Square

We recently shared that a Passholder Ticketing Office would soon be available in Liberty Square.  The new Ticket Office Annex is now available in Liberty Square at the Magic Kingdom.

Ticket Office Annex Now Available In Liberty Square

The former Ticket Office Annex was in Tomorrowland at the Tomorrowland Light and Power Company.  That location closed its doors on March 2nd of this year. The new Ticket Office Annex is now located in the former Heritage House Building.  Many of us will recognize this building as the location for the Muppets Present Great Moments in American History show.

Ticket Office Annex Now Available In Liberty Square

The newly relocated Annual Passholder Ticket Office is designed to take some of the pressure off the main Guest Relations located at the entrance of the Magic Kingdom.  You do not have to be an Annual Passholder to take advantage of this ticket office location.  Here are some of the services offered:

  • Upgrading one park per day tickets to park hoppers
  • Adding additional days to existing tickets
  • Upgrading to a Walt Disney World Annual Pass
  • Replacing lost tickets
  • Access to Passholder Services, as well as Dining and Event Reservations

What do you think of this new ticket office location?  Please leave your comments in the box below.

Gaston’s Tavern Featuring Tavern’s Trio Of Macarons

Gaston's Tavern Featuring Tavern's Trio Of Macarons

Macarons are a favorite French Pastry treat and they can be found at a variety of locations around the Walt Disney World Resort.  You can most commonly find them at the France Pavillion in Epcot and at Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs.  We are happy to announce that Gaston’s Tavern, in the Magic Kingdom’s New Fantasyland, is now featuring the Tavern’s Trio of Macarons.

Gaston's Tavern Featuring Tavern's Trio Of Macarons

The flavor combinations are Chocolate, Vanilla and Coffee, or Pistachio, Raspberry and Lemon.  The flavors are not interchangeable.  This fun new snack counts as one snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan and is a gluten-free option for our friends looking for allergy-friendly foods.  One fun observation to point out is that the Pistachio, Lemon and Raspberry trio is representative of the Tavern Triplets in the original Beauty and the Beast movie.

Gaston's Tavern Featuring Tavern's Trio Of Macarons

When the Tavern’s Trio of Macarons became available last weekend, there was a typo in the original display signs. We were happy to see that this was quickly corrected.  Disney is very good about adjusting small errors in a very timely manner.

Will you be sampling the Tavern’s Trio of Macarons at Gaston’s Tavern?  Please leave your comments in the box below.

Part 2 – Music And Mayhem – A Press Conference With “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2”!

Part 2 - Music And Mayhem - A Press Conference With "Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2"!

Here’s part 2 to the “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2” press conference! You’ll understand quickly why this was split into two parts. Read part 1 here.

After they announced part two was starting, in walked Sean Gunn (Kraglin), Sylvester Stallone (Stakar Ogord), Dave Bautista (Drax), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Karen Gillan (Nebula) , Pom Klementieff (Mantis), and Kevin Feige (Producer) for a second time. See? Pretty big crowd!

Part 2 - Music And Mayhem - A Press Conference With "Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2"!

This round got started right away with a question from the moderator – to the newest members of the cast – what scene or person made you decide to join the cast? Stallone was the first to chime in “It was interesting because I love action films, but I haven’t ventured into the genre, so it was quite an experience.” Pom also said that she had an incredible time and “Can’t wait to do it again.”

Soon enough the question turned to the makeup chair – seeing that the actors that played the characters with the most body art was on this panel. Zoe and Karen’s makeup time was four hours, Pom’s was three and half, Dave had it easy with a hour. All either talked their people’s ear off (Zoe) or zoned out (Dave).

Part 2 - Music And Mayhem - A Press Conference With "Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2"!

One thing that I thoroughly enjoyed about this film was the powerful, strong women. There was a lot of respect in the room when Zoe and Karen went back and forth:

KAREN GILLAN: It’s the greatest. I loved working on all of that stuff with Zoe, mean, it’s the best, we have such a good time.
ZOE SALDANA: We do, because we’re very opposite to our characters and you know, Karen is very feminine and goofy and a little clumsy because these sets are dangerous, let’s be honest.
KAREN GILLAN: But you’re an amazing fighter. Zoe literally teaches me how to fight while we’re doing it. She’ll be like, “Turn your head like that and you strangle someone like that, you’ll going to look cool,” and I’m like, “Yes, thank you,”

Something I didn’t realize before this press conference is Sean Gunn, not only plays Kraglin he also plays the on set Rocket. He crouches down to get Rocket size and says the lines for reference. But one little thing he found a challenge, “But yeah, it’s interesting in this movie because Rocket and Kraglin have a few scenes that they’re in together, so… so doing , you know, like juggling the two things was a very strange and challenging experience for me. But I love it. I love both characters and I, you know, I’m just really grateful to be a part of it.” Apparently he did such a great job as Rocket that Feige mentioned whenever the animators had a hiccup with that Rocket would do in a situation, “James will say, “Go back to the plate,” which means the original portion of photography with Sean, even little mannerisms of his eyes and his mouth.“

Part 2 - Music And Mayhem - A Press Conference With "Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2"!

The conversation went then to Stallone, and what he thought of this world. “I just always became fascinated with mythology and Joseph Campbell and you know, Man of a Thousand Faces and so on and so forth. So when I started doing Rambo, whatever, there was an evolution that takes place and each generation has to define itself and find its own heroes and find its own mythology and this is the new, this is this generation, and maybe even the next generation’s mythology and when Kevin invited me onboard I said, “This is interesting because I haven’t gone here,”

All the returning cast members talked about how great it was to come back to make the sequel. Sean mention seeing everyone again, and Zoe talked about the makeup process, Dave went a bit further, “it was really a luxury to come back into a reoccurring role, not only where I was comfortable with the character, but I was also like so comfortable with my cast members, because they’re people that I love and care about and I knew they weren’t going to judge me so I didn’t have to feel self-conscious about anything that I did. I mean they just accept me for who I am and they appreciate me and they also are confident that I will deliver for them and so that was my biggest luxury in this.” It really was a giant love-fest.

The last question was about the soundtrack and the score. I found it really interesting – the score is written and done a year before shooting so, James Gunn can play the score in the actor’s earbuds So they can get a sense of the scene and the feeling of it. He will also play some of the songs that are intended for the film and where it goes in the movie.

The press conference was enlightening and so much fun to attend. Please go out and see “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2” when is comes out May 5th. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as much as I did, then go and get the soundtrack!!

Part 1, Music And Mayhem – A Press Conference With “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2”!

Part 1, Music And Mayhem - A Press Conference With "Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2"!

I had the opportunity to sit in on the “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” press conference the day after I saw the screening of the film. It was a two parter, because the ensemble in this movie is pretty large. I’m really glad they did break this up into two parts – these personalities are so big, just one press conference wouldn’t have been enough!

It was held in a ballroom at the London Hotel in Beverly Hills. The stage was decked out in blue with a huge pink neon sign that said “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” hanging above the seats.

Part 1, Music And Mayhem - A Press Conference With "Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2"!

Part one consisted of James Gunn (Director), Kurt Russell (Ego), Chris Pratt (Peter Gunn), Michael Rooker (Yondu), Elizabeth Debicki (Ayesha), and Kevin Feige (producer). Moderated by Kara Warner from People, everyone walked in and we were well on our way!

The moderator opened the panel to the new kids joining the cast and asked if there was an initiation process to join the ragtag gang. Debicki admitted sadly, no, there was no initiation to join the group, but was “obviously terrified of playing this extremely powerful creature.”
Kurt Russell had to watch the original, because when the rumor mill started about him joining the cast, he had no idea what the story was about. Pratt admitted to being a little star-struck with Russell when first on-set, but instead of attempting to play cool, he embraced it, “you promise yourself you not gonna do the thing where you geek out. But it’s a little inauthentic if you don’t” So he got that out of the way first thing and now they’re friends.

James Gunn addressed the whys of a sequel and how important it was to not just remake the first one, “they say, oh people like the dance-off in the first movie, what’s our version of the dance-off? People liked “we are Groot” in the first movie, what’s our version of “we are Groot”? Instead of doing that, we really tried to let these characters grow and change”

Part 1, Music And Mayhem - A Press Conference With "Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2"!

The ‘beefcake clause’ was addressed with the panel. This time around, there’s more that just Pratt shirtless. Rooker’s Yondu makes an appearance in the near buff. It’s a rather pivotal scene in the film, so I won’t go into detail about the scene. What I can say is Rooker explains when he found out about it, he started working out pretty religiously, “And it just dawned on me there at that moment like two weeks before I was gonna do the movie. The scene, I shouldn’t be in shape. I should be just the opposite.” Once you watch the film you’ll understand why.

The first question from the room was one I was wondering about. Kurt Russell coming home to Disney, Russell was a Disney kid in his past. Russell said, “I feel like I do have a special relationship with Disney, but the truth of the matter is, every time you go to work, you got to make the team.” He went on the say the team (the cast) had a terrific manager (Director) and that’s what makes it good. Of course Gunn went on to explain how working with Russell is like “wrestling a playful bear” whereas working with Rooker is like “trying to taze a badger.”

The last question for this panel dove into some deep nerd-dom. (I’m not giving anything away here, but I’ll just say the characters and not the actors, so as not to spoil.) A question was asked about the characters of the 90’s Guardians of the Galaxy group – Charlie 27, Aleta Ogord, Krugar and Mainframe, that are represented in this film, what does it mean and who’s playing some of the characters we didn’t actually see… Let’s just say Kevin Feige is the best person to head up the Marvel Cinematic Universe, because he let nothing slip.

Check back for the second part to the “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2” press conference!
