Additional Viewing Areas Available For Guests To See Last “Wishes” Performance

“Wishes”, the Magic Kingdom’s nighttime spectacular will have its last performance on Thursday May 11th. This beloved show, hosted by Jiminy Cricket and the Blue Fairy, has been warming our hearts for almost 14 years. The new Magic Kingdom nighttime show called “Happily Ever After” will start the following evening, Friday May 12th. Unlike Wishes, this show will have projection mapping, lasers, searchlights, and of course fireworks!

Magic Kingdom is expecting heavier than normal crowds to say goodbye to “Wishes” and to welcome “Happily Ever After”. To accommodate the extra guests, Disney is opening up an additional viewing area in the cast member parking lot located next to the Main Street bypass (behind Tomorrowland) on May 6, 11, 12, and 13th. It is possible that the backstage bypass, located between Main Street and Adventureland, will also be opened for guests if crowd levels get high enough. It is unknown at this time if Disney will be charging for parking at these locations.

I loved Groot from the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, but I loved baby Groot at the end even more! I was wrong thinking Groot couldn’t get any cuter, until I saw the previews for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and saw the super adorable toddler like Groot. These Guardians of the Galaxy inspired earrings feature Groot looking as adorable as ever. These are great to wear on a night out to see the new movie. California Adventure’s newest attraction Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! opens May 27th and an out of this world party is the perfect way to celebrate! Tickets are on sale now for Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Mission BREAKOUT! Galactic Premiere Party.

Dance, ride, and discover what you have in common with some of your favorite heroes at this special event party to kick off the Summer of Heroes and celebrate the opening of an epic new attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! held the night before the grand opening of the attraction on May 26th. Purchase of an additional special event ticket is required to attend.

Guests will be able to experience multiple versions of the new attraction throughout the party, enjoy music from a live DJ, and meet their favorite Marvel superheroes. Typhoon Lagoon Announces May Maintenance Closure

For anyone heading to Walt Disney World in May that is planning on hitting the Water Parks, Walt Disney World resort has announced that Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon will be closing its gates to visitors on Monday May 15th through Tuesday May 16th and will re-open on Wednesday the 17th.

Here’s what you’ll see listed on My Disney Experience:

The reason for the closure was cited as routine maintenance. During this time Blizzard Beach will remain open and will have normal operating hours.

Fun Toys to Keep Your Kids Busy While Waiting in Line at Disney

As a mom of a young hyper kiddo, I know it can sometimes be a challenge to keep the little ones entertained while waiting. Especially in some of the longer ride ques at the Disney Parks. If you have a child or children that could use a little extra distraction for the long waits, we’ve found a few toys that might help keep kids busy while waiting in line.

These are all small toys that can easily fit in a pocket, and also don’t make any distracting loud noises, so you won’t be bothering anyone. They are also great to have for the bus rides around the Walt Disney World Resort, for flights, or even for tedious times in every day life. They are also very affordably priced too! All of these are also pretty entertaining for myself too, I know I personally like something distracting if I’m stuck in a very long line at the grocery store, haha!

Fidget Toy Hand Spinner

These are hugely popular right now with kids. These are made with a smooth ball center, and spin and balance between your fingers with ease. They are not only fun, but look cool in come in lots of colors too.

Fidget Cube

This is an unusually addicting, high-quality fidget toy designed to help you focus. This toy offers lots of functions to help satisfy anxiousness or unrest. I’m a huge pen clicker so I love the little switch that clicks up and down on this one.

Neon Stretch Strings

These are one of my favorite distractions to have on hand. They are brightly colored, and have several activities you can do with them. Stretching them can be like a stress ball. I like to braid them, make them wiggle, or even do silly pretend jewelry. You can even play a mini game of tug-o-war as an interactive game to play together.

Squeeze a Bean Keychain

Are you a fan of popping bubble wrap? Of course you are, who isn’t! This one is another favorite because it can hook on your keys, on a back pack, purse, etc. It gives you that totally satisfying feeling of popping bubble wrap, without the sadness of all the bubbles being popped out!

Flippy Chain

Last but not least to play with while waiting in line is the Flippy Chain. This toy has the ability to focus and relax you with the simple movements and colorful bands. What I love about this is, it’s an up-cycled product! These are hand made from actual bike chains that have been cleaned and de-greased. They have colorful bands that give the flippy chain a kinetic resistance while flipping, sliding and twisting.

After visiting the parks you can still use these fun and relaxing toys in every day settings, so they really are a great value.

As we reported yesterday, the Magic Kingdom did special testing last night of the much anticipated new fireworks show, “Happily Ever After”. The lucky guests staying at the Magic Kingdom area resorts were treated to lasers and pyrotechnics that only hint to how amazing this show will be.

Disney Photo Snapper, a popular photographer, was able to snag some really beautiful shots of the practice run of the new Magic Kingdom nighttime spectacular, “Happily Ever After“.

TBS Celebrates Star Wars Day With An All-Day Movie Marathon

The Force is strong with TBS this Star Wars Day as the network is hosting a movie marathon on Thursday, May 4.

Since Star Wars fans around the world adopted the slogan “May the Fourth be with you” May 4th has become Star Wars Day. This year, the Turner network will present the first six Star Wars films during an all-day marathon, kicking off at 6:40 a.m. with “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.” The marathon will continue with the remaining two prequels and then present the three original films, concluding at 8:15 p.m. with a broadcast of “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.”

The marathon comes courtesy of a licensing agreement that also grants TBS premiere rights to the most recent entries in the franchise, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”, as well as three more yet-to-be-released Star Wars films. The network plans to make the “May the Fourth” marathon an annual tradition alongside its other pop culture marathons, including “24 Hours of A Christmas Story” and “Friends for Thanksgiving.”

First Musical Acts Released for Eat To The Beat Concert Series at 2017 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival

The 22nd Annual International Food and Wine Festival is generally accepted as one of the most highly anticipated and attended events for Disney guests. Yesterday we shared the release of this year’s extended festival dates and Marketplaces. Today we have more news to share with a look at the very first musical artists you can expect to enjoy at the 2017 Eat to the Beat concert series.

This concert series takes place most nights during the Food and Wine Festival and features acts from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 00s. Concerts are performed three times per evening (5:30 pm, 6:45 pm, and 8:00 pm) so guests have plenty of opportunities to enjoy their favorite acts. There is no additional cost to attend these concerts as they are included in the price of your EPCOT admission. The concert series are presented in EPCOT’s American Gardens Theater at the America Pavilion in the World Showcase.

Currently we only have a preliminary list for the musical acts coming this year. But stay tuned as we will keep you updated as more information is released.
